Urgent recs for brake cont and wdh. I know nothing 🤣

We had problems with the Tekonsha RF. It didn't behave well with our solar equipped 21. Then there's the issue of it pulsing the brakes when we put the hazard lights on because the tow vehicle went into limp mode on a hill. Installation was pretty straightforward at least. I dropped the...

    Wifi or hotspot for remote

I use a 5g hotspot running on T-Mobile. The device (https://www.gl-inet.com/products/gl-x3000/) is unlocked and is dual SIM for better coverage options. My experience has been good so far.

    Avoiding Winterizing

I carry a 1 gallon ryobi compressor in the trailer with a quick release adapter fitting to connect to the city water connection. I can drain and blow the lines in about 15 minutes. I’ve done it one the road when we hit a couple of days of cold temps when traveling in the mountains.

Odd coincidence at our RV storage facility

We were considering the Sol Horizon in 2020 when we bought our 21c. I liked the design of the Sol, but the single axle and combined waste tank were deal killers for me.

    Recommendations for screen tent?

I have a Master Canopy, purchased from Amazon. It seems to be pretty comparable to the Clam shelters I've seen. We've had it the years with no issues.

    Karl Says Goodbye

Curiously, both Off Grid and Northern Lite were acquired in 2017 and offloaded after five years in 2022. Escape was acquired in 2018, so the timing would appear to be about right.

    Hitchfire Grill

I ended up picking up one of their F20 grills with RV quick connect kit their black Friday sale. It is well built and does the job. Well made and very sturdy. I don't regret the purchase because of the convenience, but it was still spendy for what it is, even on sale. Pic of the grill on the...

    Karl Says Goodbye

That would be a better outcome than what KV did with Campion boats. After a failed attempt at moving manufacturing to Mexico, they shut down abruptly last year and liquidated the assets.

    Anyone towing a 19 or 21 with a BMW x5?

We just retired our 2011 x5 3.5d at 190k miles. We towed our 21c with it for three years. It was a great tow vehicle.

Towing Escape 21 with Nissan Armada

An old thread, I know, but I picked up a used low mileage Armada in September. It took me a couple trips to get the equalizer WDH dialed in, but once configured, it towed our 21c beautifully.

    Hitchfire Grill

I’ve thought about getting a hitch mount cargo rack. I like the idea for carrying the grill and/or the occasional times when we’re carrying a generator for dry camping in the woods and solar doesn’t work. What’s stopped meis concerns about bounce and fear of causing a crash when an unsecured...

    Dragging Brakes

I had one wheel with an out of adjustment brake when my trailer was new. It locked once at low speed at a gas station. I actually had to reverse the trailer to get it to unlock. It happened again shortly thereafter when I was in a traffic jam on dry pavement. Murphy’s law being what it is...

Adding a 12 volt USB-C power delivery port to a camper

I think my Dell is a 60W PD adapter as you stated yours is. The Nektek pushes 40 as you said. I’ve got two them and one of their wall warts and they’ve all been fine. I did disable the dell low power warning in the BIOS settings (more to stop the warning when using passthrough charging on a...

I bought a couple of Nektek 12v chargers Nekteck USB Type C Car Charger... (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075WQQG7C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) that have both a type c and traditional USB-A outlet. I use them for charging phones, tablets and a Dell laptop. Working great for over a year so far.

Repair/replacement of Shurflo fresh water pump debris strainer

We had the same issue when our trailer was new. I could never see the crack in the strainer, but I'm certain that's what was going on. Escape sent a new pump, with strainer, under warranty and I replaced it myself.

    Starlink

I was all set to get Starlink when it first came out and ultimately concluded that it was a bad option for me (lack of official portability at launch aside). I had even preordered it, only to cancel. Big problem for me is the times when my wife stays home and it is just me camping with my...

    Hitchfire Grill

I think I'm going to just get a better travel bag for the Weber Q and call it a day. Part of the problem is that I repurposed an old duffle bag that requires wrestling the greasy grill every time I put it away.
