Marilyn and I are scheduled to pick up our 19' Escape Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 8 am. Last May, 2015 we sold a 2013 17' Casita and ordered the Escape. Our plans are to spend the first night at the KOA in Lynden, Wa. and then, if no major questions come up, head south on I-5. We have reservations Feb 5-8 in Chico, Ca where we hope to bike, kayak and paddle board. Depending on weather, we may head west to either Bodega Bay or Mendocino (actually Caspar). We are interested in gauging the difference between a single and double axel. Everyone was so cordial when we attended the gathering last year in Osoyoos, it made choosing our options much easier. Thanks to all of you.

Bono, Good luck on your pick-up and travels down to Ca. We've been through Chico quite a bit, but have never camped there, and the north coast is fabulous. Do you know where you're staying in Bodega Bay?

Congrats on ur pending pickup. We stayed 3 nights at Lynden KOA in November. It was nice, but it is technically closed for Winter. You can do self serve, however, and just pull in to any space you want then fill out form and put it in Dropbox. The utilities are on so its good to go, just kind of surprised us when we arrived.
Enjoy the new 19!

We always stay at Doran. Weekends, especially President's day can be tough; however, they have a certain amount of first-come spots if you get there by Wed. We like the variety of water choices depending on wind, tides, etc as there is a protected harbor along with a beach and open water.

That's Great! We have never camped in Bodega Bay, but have spent quite a bit of time there. Of all the options, we like Doran best too, for all the reasons you give. After our pick-up in April, Doran will be one of our closer options. Have a great time. :thumb:

My house looks down into Caspar Cove. I'd love to see your new rig, if you do come to Caspar Beach Campground. Gene

Picked up our 19' this morning, crossed the border, and made it through Seattle ahead of the afternoon commuters. We are camping south of Olympia and getting to know our new trailer. Switched from battery to gas to power the refrigerator to get the temp down to a proper beer chilling temp while driving, suspect that once the ref is properly cold the batteries should maintain this temp.

Congrats on a successful pick up and especially the drive through Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia! Have fun in getting to know your trailer!

Nice to think of you, Bob and Marilyn, camping right outside of Olympia in your new escape! Hope the beer chilled properly. : ). Enjoy your trip. Sheryl
