If anyone has owned a 201219’ can you provide some history on anything to look for as far as design/frame issues? I have a casita now so I know the maint involved with axel, water heater, etc. anything in particular with a 2012 that should be a reason to stay away from that year? Thanks

The trailer is 10 years old, I would think any issues have shown up already and been taken care of. Have you found a 2012 your looking at? If so hire someone to inspect if for you if your not sure how to test everything. We loved our Casita but love our Escape even more. You will find the people on this forum to be very helpful.

Enjoy the road and smooth travels.

Well first and foremost don't ever buy a trailer from a Spydermonkey... In all seriousness, the escape 19 first gernerations are a great trailer. There was a frame issue on the 3inch frames. but was promptly addressed with a welded support braket. There really isn't any real maintance issues that are different than the Casita. Verify the tire date codes are not more then 5-6 years old, check the brakes, replace the water heater anode rod, lift the trailer and grease the hubs, go underneath and check the black water pipe connections to the holding tank, look at the window seals to determine if the butyl tape is still sealing.

The Spydermonkey trailer is a great buy if that is the one you are looking at. It will be better than the Casita albeit a heavier trailer.

Good luck and have fun
