I bought this trailer in July of 2022 to see if the floorplan and other characteristics of the 21C fit my needs. This has been a near perfect trailer from a design, livability, durability and towing characteristics point of view for me. I now know what options are and are not important to me and want to move on to a newer model of the 21C.
The trailer has 5 new Carlisle Radial Trail HD ST205/75R15 D/8PLY tires, complete new brakes on all 4 wheels and a fresh axle service.
The title is free and clear.
This was close to a “fully loaded” trailer when new.
The Build Sheet included (copy available on request):
Extra insulation and thermal framed windows
Spray foam insulation and 12V heat pads for fresh and gray water tanks
160W solar panel with regulator
Dual 6V batteries (now 235 amp hours, 18 months old)
Dual 20 lb propane tanks with cover
Winterizing T-valve
LED interior light package
Surge protector
Electrical Management System (not on build sheet, but there)
Inverter, 1500W
2 additional 12V interior outlets, 3 total, bed, drawer stack and DS dinette
1 additional 120v interior outlet, 3 total – dinette, kitchen and drawer stack
Extra exterior 120V outlet, driver’s side
Extra 12V exterior outlet, passenger’s side
Removable power cord
4 Additional exterior LED lights - front, rear and both sides
Interior switch panel for 3 exterior and 1 interior LED lights
Additional electrical hatch, rear PS , for future moveable solar
3-way, auto-switching Norcold 4150 4.3 cu ft fridge (current installation)
2-way hot water tank (propane and AC)
Oven with 3-burner stove and cover and exhaust fan
Air conditioner (Dometic 11,000 BTU) with heat strip
Digital thermostat for AC/furnace
1 Maxxi Fan (remote is missing)
TV antenna with 120V
Cable ready with 2 coaxial cable connections inside
1 wall mount extendable TV arm for 15-19” TV (not installed)
5 aluminum wheels
Manual awning
Bike rack ready with 3 receiver sleeves on rear bumper
Additional exterior hatch, rear driver’s side
Exterior shower, driver’s side
Exterior propane quick-connect, passenger side
EZE lube axles (now front only)
Opening window in bathroom
4 reinforced interior walls at locations 1,2,4 & 6
3 fixed shelves in wardrobe closet
Stainless steel sink and chrome faucet
Storage cubby cabinet bins outside bathroom door
Front storage box
Mattress cover (mattress replaced with 10” memory foam - comfy!)
Additional access door to underbed storage, bathroom side
Entrance Step Cover
Toilet shut-off valve
3 extra vents – PS bench, DS bench and under bed
Before I bought it, the trailer had collided with a tree (or something similar) on the driver’s side front top corner and cracked the shell which had been repaired by a fiberglass autobody shop. This did not warrant a salvage title. There have been no issues associated with this accident that have negatively affected the functionality (i.e., leaks, cabinets, etc.).
The door/drawer hinges and friction locks are in good working order. I have upgraded and replaced various components while owning the trailer. As a result, a lot of potential concerns with a trailer this age have been rectified.
9/24 - replaced both dump valves
8/24 - replaced and reinforced the tongue
9/23 – replaced the rear axle due to excessive outside tire wear on the driver’s side (this may have been a pre-existing condition)
5/23 & 6/23 - replaced the 2 6V batteries with Duracells, 235 amp/hr
4/23 - replaced the failed original refrigerator with a Norcold 4150 (the only available one that would fit through the door and fit the opening)
6/23 - new Timken bearings, serviced at ~10,000 mile intervals thereafter.
All major systems work as intended. The tank monitors are unreliable, of course, and the upper driver’s side rear LED light bank does not work. Otherwise, it is in quite good condition with normal cosmetic wear and tear you would expect given the age and maintenance.
