This is our highly customized 2017 Escape 5.0. We are the second owners and purchased the trailer in the first few months of 2020. After purchasing we began modifying the trailer to match our style of camping. We enjoy the great outdoors, but love the comforts of home. Some of the options and improvements include:

  • Reading lights (including optional units in dining area) have been updated to LED fixtures, all of the original lights have been accented with gold trim.
  • USB charging water approved light with motion sensor has been added to the bathroom ceiling. It makes using the restroom at night so much easier.
  • Two 4 port USB outlets have been added to the dining and sleeping areas for quick charging of electronics.
  • Microwave is an off the shelf Insignia brand microwave that is easily replaceable if there are any issues.
  • Kitchen sink faucet was replaced with something a bit better looking.
  • Stainless steel stove and range hood with stainless stove cover.
  • External fridge fan added as a factory option.
  • Installed a new mini dishwasher in the pantry.
  • Upgraded all of the outdoor compartment locks and installed a new electronic keypad with a remote fob for the door.
  • Added large jack pads to the stabilizing jacks.
  • Battery is 2 years old and tires were replaced in June 2022.
  • The trailer had one bad axle that we discovered after purchasing. In April of 2022 we purchased two new axles and had them and a 3 inch lift kit installed for extra clearance.
  • The trailer is wired for solar but not installed.
  • The bathroom has an oxygenics shower head.

  • The previous owner added vinyl plank flooring that is in very good condition.

  • There is an exterior shower on the street side with a quick connect hose.

  • Power awning has LED light strips with remote control.
  • The previous owner opted for a larger pantry and decided to not have the furnace installed in the trailer.
  • Installed a hard wired Progressive Industries Electrical Management System.
  • Installed a pressurized accumulator tank to reduce cycling of the water pump when using the water tank. We also added a noise dampening kit.
  • Mopeka propane tank sensors are installed on both tanks and the monitor is mounted near the door inside.
  • 2-way Water Heater to use either shore power or propane.
  • Winterizing T-valve
  • Foot flush toilet
  • Removed the TV, but the coax is still in the cabinets.
  • 4G Cell phone booster with exterior antenna installed by previous owner and functions well.
  • 11,000 BTU dometic AC with digital thermostat and heat strip.
  • MaxxFan upgrade at time of purchase.
  • Extra insulation and frameless thermal windows, opening rear window, bathroom window and in the sleeping area.
  • Exterior access hatch added to rear passenger side.
  • Flip-up counter extension near sink.
  • Low pressure exterior propane quick connect.
  • Custom fabric and formica.
  • Table installed on a telescoping pedestal with a sliding mount to allow easy access to the dinette.
  • 4 pin plug at rear of trailer.
  • Horst Miracle probes in the waste tanks.
The trailer has a cream, grey, and gold theme with decorative accents throughout. All furnishings including, pillows, throws, cushions, floor mats, wall hangings, baskets, side tables, and bedding will be included in the purchase price. The pictures show the bedroom area with a full size mattress. However, we purchased a new (never used) 10in queen mattress to put in the trailer for the new owners. The only items excluded are personal items including sheets and towels.

The trailer has been stored under cover and has been professionally waxed annually. We are non-smokers and keep the trailer clean.

We will include our Anderson hitch, safety chains with rail tabs, and a Fort Knox hitch lock with several keys. To use this hitch you will need standard bed rails in your truck. Otherwise, the trailer should easily hook up to a standard fifth wheel hitch.

If you have any further questions about the trailer or what’s included please feel free to reach out.

I have to say, I’m intrigued by your cabinet colors. Did Escape paint the kitchen area grey or did you do that? If you did it, what kind of paint did you use? Thank you in advance.

My wife painted the cabinets with normal interior paint from the hardware store. Probably satin or semi gloss. The cabinets over the dinette are cream and the kitchen area is the grey. We left the bedroom cabinets in the original wood color. I’ll try to see if we still have the can and add more info.

It really makes it feel more like three separate spaces to us.

The triangle decals on the bathroom door are removable as is the wallpaper in the dinette area. We think it looks good, but we know that not everyone would have chosen the same look.

Also, we took out the full size mattress and put in the new queen mattress today. I’ll try to add a photo later, but it looks like every other 5.0 now.

Those decals are great! If you’d ask your wife the brand, or a link, that would be so helpful, thanks. Really nice interior. Our trailer is showing its age and we’re doing fix ups now prior to a BIG trip this summer. It’s fun to personalize and spiff up the interiors for sure.

Where did you purchase the dishwasher n what brand.
Thank you in advance

Thank you for the kind words. We really love it and are not real happy to part with it, but we have another one we are working on and need the space.

I tried to find the decals in our Amazon orders but haven’t found them yet. If I do I will post them.

Costway dishwasher was bought on Target.com. There are more pictures at:

The dishwasher was fairly easy to install, but would be even easier to remove. The pex for the bathroom sink runs through that cabinet and there is a vent for the gray tank right in the bottom of the cabinet. The only hard part was working in such a small space.

There is a 90 degree shutoff for the water supply so that you can easily isolate the dishwasher from the water system.

One small thing that made a big difference to us was replacing the dinette back cushions with wedge headboard cushions that are meant to be used in a single bed.

The original cushions are included in the sale so that you can still convert the dinette to a bed, but the wedges are much softer and we really prefer them. Especially with a good throw pillow (also included).

WOW! I have yet to find a 5.0 that we would prefer over our new to us 2023 until now. Plus you all are a closer drive than the one we did to Cheyenne from Tulsa to get ours.
🤯 upgrades!!! However, we winter camp and a furnace would be a must have.
Decor is OUTSTANDING!!!! I love the combo paint colors and wood. I’m planning on painting the lower kitchen cabinets. This inspires me to possibly paint the whole kitchen area. I would love to pick your wife’s brain for her process.

QUESTIONS:
1. Was the countertop originally installed at the factory? It is unique and I REALLY like it.
2. Overhead lights-where did you get all of them?
3. The cabinet pull straps-made or purchased? ABSOLUTLEY ❤️ them
4. The little bedside tables-where did you get those.
5. Gold bathroom door handle-where did you all find that gem?

This is an awesome trailer at a great price. I hope you all get a great buyer soon. However, I hope to see it in person sometime.

We paid quite a bit more for ours. However, we have a heater, and a solar system with a solar panel, and one LiFePo battery.

You all are including the Fort Knox lock!!! What a bonus! If a buyer is hesitant about the hitch, they can order the rails from etrailer. We had to find a hitch place to install it. Not all will. Thankfully we found a very reputable one south of Tulsa to do it.

The stairs are done very nicely. I think they are as beautiful as the ones we have. Our previous owners made oak inlaid stair tops for ours. Oh and those wheels look Saweet!

You could easily add a Wave 3 Catalytic Heater mounted to the entry wall on the sink (left) side. It needs no electricity and sips LP gas. We found a Martin 3,000 BTU catalytic heater more than adequate for three years (>500 nights) in our 5.0, down to around 20F. At <20F it just got a little colder inside the 5.0, but we have no problem sleeping at <50F.

Of course, you need to learn about catalytic heaters and understand the venting and chemistry involved (a simple concept). If you don't, just move on to a more involved, battery hungry heater.

Food for thought,

Perry

Thank you for your kind words. I read your message to my wife and she was very thankful.

To your questions:
1. Those came with the trailer. I think the original owner custom ordered them from the factory.
2. All the lights are from Amazon except the escape looking lights with gold trim. My wife took those apart and spray painted the trim gold. They look nice in person.
3. Cabinet pulls are also from Amazon.
4. The bedside tables are from Target. The legs fold up for easy storage. Collapsible lap desk brown - Threshold brand.
5. The bathroom handle was originally brown so my wife spray painted it gold. It held up well over years of use but had some minor scratches. So we got a black one that will go with it the trailer. Then she resprayed the gold and it looks good, too.

We have no hope of getting all the money we put into the trailer back out of it, and that isn’t our intention. We tried to price it fairly and I’m happy for the comments reinforcing that target.

Perry:

You are correct, there are many ways to provide heat in a trailer this small and so well insulated. The double bottle Mr Buddy is too much heat, in my option. Based on your comments elsewhere I got the Martin heater you linked to and I think it would work very well. Just haven’t tried it in the trailer.

The heat strip in the ac works well to keep it comfortable to single digits if you have power. A Champion 2500 dual fuel running on propane will step in nicely if you don’t have power. And it fits in the front compartment just fine. And oil filled space heaters are nice to keep it warm if you sleep better without the AC fan running. They just don’t work quickly.

I also looked into a furnace install, but the need never was large enough.

I was also looking at updating to Lithium batteries and solar but never had a strong need based on our camping style. The pre-wire for solar looks adequate if you design your array with that wire in mind and there is plenty of room for a few hundred amp hours of batteries.

Thanks for chiming in.

Best regards,

Keith
