2017 Improvement leaks before 4/1/2016 unveiling...

I'm aware of 2 new improvements that have been leaked inadvertently now. Frameless opening awning windows and single handle, pull out, ss sink faucet. Anyone else have any additional leaks that have been disclosed??

Still no bunk bed/cot in the 2017 21.....might've made us move out our date, but no go.

When I had a rubber roof, the forums all said the black steaks were caused by the rubber roof. No more rubber roof but I still have the streaks.

I get streaks where I don't even have windows. I'm of the mind that streaks are the result of dirt and such that settles on the roof getting washed down the sides by rain. Where the rain is channeled, you get much more noticeable streaks. Windows work great at channeling water. Take a look where your rain gutters dump out if you have them.

We have washed the trailer including the roof and had streaks right after. Acid rain has been mentioned. Hard to tell but next time maybe we will try to clean the roof very well and see if we still get that.

When I was at Escape yesterday, I inquired about the beer wench option, but it seems it will not be included with the 2017 model, and I will have to continue to get my own darn beer. ;)

Shoot I already had that option picked out

Did you ask about the Cabana Boy option? I can get my own dang beer... I want one that cleans and cooks.

I'm wondering how much is involved with switching body shapes. Do they need to get approval from various Canadian and US government agencies since they'll be hauled down the road? I can well imagine that taking time and multiple headaches. Or the Canadian authorities saying "yes" and US saying "no". Oh joy!
I don't think there's anything about a trailer design which is specifically approved by government agencies. There are a number of rules to meet, but if you change your design - or make an entirely new model - and the new one meets the rules, I don't think there's anyone in government who would care or would keep track of the change in any way.

I note that every Escape seems to have the same VIN, other than the parts which must change: the sequence number on the end, the year, and the check digit which is calculated based on the the characters. You can't even tell by the VIN whether a particular Escape is a 17' or a 5.0TA or something else; I doubt that the Escape models are distinct things to officials.

Motor vehicles are quite different, with specific designs being tested and approved, but even then changes which are not relevant to regulations are at the manufacturer's discretion.

I had frameless windows on my T@Da and my Lance trailers, loved them. They were Dometic acrylic windows, double paned with built in screen, solar shade.
I've seen those, but I've also seen "frameless" (glass overlaps the frame on the outside) windows from the usual North American suppliers (e.g. Hehr) which have none of these features. It will be interesting to see what actually appears in the 2017 Escapes.

In the past Escape has changed and upgraded options and the like without all the hoopla that's going on right now. It would seem to me that the real change is going to be the molds and the upgrades and options are second fiddle to that.

Seeing the problems that Reace has had in the past with the refrigerators I could see him expanding the door size so that he had more refrigerator options to choose from as the door width was the limiting factor as to what one he could use. The door he uses now has been used on the trailers right down to the 13' so a larger door would also look in keeping with the larger size trailers that they are now building. As it is now one has to stoop down to exit the trailer to avoid hitting their head so a little taller might be in the cards too.

Another thing is the storage box, even though it is popular, has a bit of an "add on" look to it and doesn't really fit with the stream line look of the trailer. I could see ETI making this look more streamline and sort of building it into the mold so it looks part of the trailer such as Bigfoot does with the front end of their trailer to incorporate the propane tanks. Maybe building the storage box into the mold and having it encompass the propane tank then making it a standard feature is in the cards?

With the problems encountered with the solar panels working loose on some trailers a mounting system could also be incorporated into the mold so the solar panels don't have to be bolted through the shell of the trailer.

Just some thoughts.

Before the storage box, Bigfoot had a propane tank and battery cover, following the line of the A-frame tongue. That might be nicer than the generic propane tank cover used by Escape, but the whole thing is incompatible with putting a storage box on as well.

The current Bigfoot storage box is not just a box on the tongue; the frame of the trailer is extended to match. That makes a huge change to the shape options. I have not seen a suggestion of, and would not expect, a frame change like this in the 2017 Escape revisions. The Bigfoot shape is boxier, and so easier to match to a storage box.

Maybe building the storage box into the mold and having it encompass the propane tank then making it a standard feature is in the cards?
It has always seemed to me that a small full-height extension of the body is of more value for the same weight as a separate box.

To extend only the bottom would be problematic: the shape has to come out of the mould, and the upper and lower parts need to mate. I suppose the top shell could form the frame of the top of the box. The 5.0/5.0TA needs a step up in the seam required to make shape work; in contrast Scamp made the sleeping loft of the Scamp 19' of only the top shell, and the result is awkward.

Love your photos from Utah Barry. The cloud formations are very interesting to see. Our plan is to maybe get there this fall. Hopefully take in some mountain bike riding as well as the incredible sights.

Joan and I have never experienced this problem ;D

My 19 is paid for and more than meets my needs. The only option that would have me considering an upgrade is the elusive 2 recliner / no dinette model.

I'm with sturski, the new 19 is more than we ever thought we'd have and an awesome trailer so far. Sure is interesting to watch all the speculation and excitement going on though.
