2019 interior changes

If that is frosted plexiglass in the new doors it might be nice to have a matching strip along the wall as a backsplash. Attach it with some 3m spray glue and silicon bead at the bottom and it will stay right in place.

Before I agree to be a beta tester for ETI, I want an answer to a very legitimate question Tractors1 (Charlie) asked in Post #7.

In an e-mail, i asked ETI the question that if I was leveled in such a way that spilled water ran towards the outside wall, what would prevent it from running between the countertop and the wall? Typically a backsplash serves that function.

I’ll post their reply when I get it.

Lots of caulk.

New interior Floor name: Mannington New Castle Knight's Armor #4031
New Interior Formica : Mineral Jet #3450-58

Here are the codes for the new coverings.

These are welcome changes and we will opt to go back to the standard Formica!
Wife still wants upholstery and floors modified, but every penny counts!
Is the foam backed liner truly also lighter?

With the conventional backsplash there was a bead of clear silicone caulk along the bottom to seal the joint, I assume this will continue along the wall

Will Oak continue to be an option, or have they switched over to Maple across the board?

This what I was told
The only pictures I have of the new Maple Interior are really geared towards the faucet. However, you can see the new formica (Mineral Jet #3450-58) as well as the new look the dividing wall is taking on between the kitchen and the dinette. We will be phasing out the current Oak interior over the next several months, so currently people with trailers on order will be given the option between the two. We were JUST given an email this morning to send out to our customers with completion dates in February and March as we need to hear from these folks ASAP whether they want to have the Maple or Oak interior.

So I sent an email that I wanted the oak, although my completion date isn't until April

I really like that idea, will have to ask Escape for a scrap piece to do just that !

A lot of that has to do with personal taste. We all have opinions about what we like and don't like.
Menfolk don’t understand form over function. Neither do we understand “cosmetic.” Same with “decor.” None of that blasphemy is improvement. :)

You should say 'some menfolk.' Looking at some of the marvelous mods done on this forum, I know they weren't done just for their female SOs. Otherwise, there would be a lot of men happy with cupboard doors made out of cardboard held on by duck tape... after all the function is to hide and keep things contained.

Now, do you prefer the oak or maple

The beauty of classic American and European automobiles cannot be logically debated. The Cords, Auburns, Duesenbergs, Ferraris, Porches, Jaguars, and Harley Earl designed Lincolns and later GM designs are among the most beautiful man made creations. Form often compliments function and gives rise to pride of ownership.

Maple. (This man-folk chose form over function).

On our trailer ETI used glossy clear silicone seal/chaulk. It looks just like water, and while I've kind of gotten used to it, I still wipe down the edge, just in case there is water there. I still don't like the fact that it's glossy.

Folks can always add Peel & Stick to the back wall and that will fill some of the need for a backsplash.

If you order custom countertops, ETI gives you the excess from the full sheet they ordered. You can use it to replace the wood insert in the fridge/freezer doors and still have some left over to do your own backsplash, I believe. (I don't remember how much was left over for us after doing the doors.) PatandLinda did that to theirs (just behind the stove area, I think, but it could have been the entire area; can't remember now) and it looked really nice.

Yah, cardboard and duct tape would work for me. But heck, why bother, you don't need to hide the stuff you use so just a bungee cord would be simpler. :)
