This fall on my long trip I damaged the passenger rear exterior hatch and light. :suspicion:
A local boat repair will fix the fiberglass. They can also replace the hatch if I get the right one. Can I buy an aftermarket hatch that will fit? I cannot open it to get accurate measurements on the size. I am assuming measurements are done on the interior of the frame? I might be able to get interior measurements from the inside ? Right now it is in for the yearly reseal of the bearings. I won't pick it up until next week some time.

I contacted Escape thinking they would have the measurements since they probably put in thousands of them. They don't know and want me to provide measurements.

Sidenote: I have considered having all the exterior hatches replaced with marine hatches since I hate the latches on the factory ones. Yes, I had the locks replaced but the hatches are still challenging to get shut and sometimes challenging to get unlocked and locked.

Why not unscrew & remove the hatch completely to get your measurements?

Looking at your photos, pliers bending the turnbuckle closure fitting straight may allow you to open the hatch.
Unscrewing and removing the hatch outer flange ring is what I would try first. It's unlikely forum members have the measurement info. A thin putty knife under the flange is likely needed to break loose any caulk sealant there in a hatch removal.

If you remove the hatch as suggested above, you may well find the OE Lippert label on the frame with complete hatch specs (which Lippert can use to fabricate an exact match replacement).

You can temporarily reinstall the damaged hatch while waiting for a replacement, which may take some time.

Just for your consideration.

Thank you. It helps to have suggestions on a different approach. I will try that.

Thanks. Yes it might have a label on the inside. Good idea to be able to temporarily reinstall the hatch.
All this is so helpful!
