We have reserved. They did not tell us the site number so I am sending off an email.

Darn it! I forgot to call until a few minutes ago...LOL All the water sites on the one side are gone! 222 for this crew!

My brother and I, along with a few others I know, are booked in.

I read this following message sent out to full time Nk'Mip users. They are stopping renting out spots for the summers for good reasons of their own. I personally believe this is the right thing to do as it makes it better for the normal campground users and I guess saves them some grief. Maybe more rally spots will open up.

-------------------------------------------------

Dear Valued Guest,
We hope you’ve enjoyed your stays with us at Nk'Mip Campground and want to sincerely thank you for your continued support and loyalty over the days, weeks, months, and years you've spent here.
We are writing to inform you that summer renewals will no longer be offered after the 2026 season. All existing renewals will be honored through 2026, but this will be the final season for this option.
This was not a decision made lightly. After careful review by Chief and Council, and extensive consideration by our management team, it has become clear that changes are necessary to protect the integrity of the campground experience for all guests.
Several key factors contributed to this decision:
• Continued subletting of sites, despite repeated warnings, notices, and enforcement efforts.
• Ongoing abuse toward staff and disregard for campground policies — much of which has come from a large portion of our renewal guests.
• Calendar drift and scheduling challenges, which place strain on both guests and staff.
• A strong desire to create fairness and access for new and returning guests who have been unable to book due to fully renewed occupancy.
We fully understand that this change may be disappointing to some of our long-standing guests. However, this decision is final and has been made in the best interest of the campground, the community, and the many guests who have been unable to experience Nk’Mip due to limited availability.
Again, to be absolutely clear:
👉
Summer renewals will be honored for 2026.
👉
There will be no summer renewals offered after the 2026 season.
👉
No special exceptions will be made.
We remain committed to making your remaining seasons with us as enjoyable as possible and deeply appreciate the part you've played in making Nk'Mip Campground what it is today.
Any abusive or inappropriate behavior directed towards our staff in response to this decision will not be tolerated and may result in your inclusion on our Do Not Book list.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Warm regards,
Nk'Mip Campground Management

Thanks for posting that Jim. Dare I ask what site you have? Want to know where the good stuff will be poured. :)

Glad to see they're ending that policy. I was about to post a "Newbie guide to the campground" and that was one of items that I was going to mention. The area from reception down to the store, especially has been more like a mobile home park than a campground. I never viewed the few spots among them as particularly desirable.

Other comments based on the presumption that folks are attending to mix and mingle with fellow Escape owners:

-the club house is the center of a lot of activities

-while lots of folks love a waterfront site the ones to the North can be a long way from core activities and a long walk for other folks

-the same is true for the massive main area. The outer edges are a long way away.

-part of the enjoyment is walking around saying hi and looking at various mods etc. Those two areas greatly reduce that situation.

-subjective of course but the "best" areas are those near the clubhouse and especially between the club house and the water.

We stay in a different area every year that we attend. This year our choice was made with regard to lake access for our kayaks. Don't think there is any site that is best, but many are very good depending on your desires. I do find the walking about and visiting to be one of the most enjoyable aspects, so, in that regard, any site is good.

Some of the trailers that are there full time tend to be a little run down and the area around them unkept.
The new policy will clean things up and make it more inviting.

We’re in 307 along the lake. Didn’t really know where to go. First timers. I’m sure it will be fine. Good to get some walking in.

We are first timers too, after 11 years in our 21C. We booked site 329 and we love to walk. Looking forward to the rally!

Hmm. I made our reservation this morning. When I mentioned I thought they might be full, the person I spoke to said she wasn’t sure why I would think that. I then confirmed a waterfront site in the 300 range. Maybe the area close to the rally activities is full?
