21' Escape Update

I like the idea of a recliner and desk combo, but what about eating inside?

I'd eat in the recliner or at the desk. I think there might be room for 3 people this way. Would need to use a TV tray and/or get some collapsible chairs.

Reace, how about technical specs... what axles and tire sizes will be used? Staying with a 2" coupler? Top-of-ball coupling height? I realize some details will not be set yet.

For the dinette area, the benches do play a role in adding strength to the shell, so captains chairs are not an option we can entertain. Sorry... but there are some very comfortable lounge chairs available for sitting outside under the awning!

Ah yes, one of the main reasons we head out with our Escapes, to get outside and enjoy!

How about office chair style recliners that bolt onto the benches? Some type of back support makes a world of difference.

There is a discussion of "Comfy Reading Seating..." at the Casita Travel Trailer Forum (Don't know if you have to join to view, but it is worth joining anyway & they seem to tolerate me as an Escape owner.)

One of the solutions that is expensive, but interesting is the West Marine High-Back Go Anywhere Seat. Like any marine item it is a bit over priced, but it sure looks like it would be comfortable sitting in place of the bottom cushion in my 17!.

The Go anywhere seat is a very interesting idea. I'm wondering how well it would fit at the dinette.

I'm assuming that with the hinged dinette, the table can be folded and pushed against the wall, leaving a space between the two bench seats. Is that correct?

The front dinette in the 17B slides - I'm fairly sure it would fit with the table slid to the far side since I travel solo and wouldn't need to center the table after sitting. I'd also be able to use it outside on picnic tables, etc. Awful tempting!

One more thing to move to access under seat storage though. I get irked with pillows and power cords.

Escape 19 looked really good except for two things (for us):

- Wet washroom
- Lack of bed isles

Is it even remotely possible to consider either of these options for the new 21ft model?

Also, what would be the GVWR of this model? Is it going to be similar to the 19ft model with less CCC or will it exceed 5000lb?

Very intrigued with the 21ft model.

You will not likely get anything but a wet bath, as though a few are not keen, most like myself prefer this option, as it frees up space for other uses. We rarely use the shower anyway.

As far as the bed aisles go, unless they decided to go even wider, and completely rebuild the mould, I doubt that there would be room on both sides for walking. With the width it is now, and with a full queen width, there would be only 20" left over, not enough for two aisles.

21' Escape

Hello,

We are currently working on the mold and the plug for the 21’ Escape and hope to have the first ones available late Spring however, we do not have them scheduled to enter production until October in case there are any unforeseen delays. Reace and I were just in Vernon looking at the 'plug' and other than being teal it looks fantastic! ;D

We expect the 21’ Escape to weigh about 300lbs –400lbs more than the 19’ Escape which means we will probably recommend a 5000lbs minimum towing capacity.


Based on the current Standard Features list we anticipate the base price of this trailer to be $25,500.

Wow, less than $2k for the extra 2 feet, great deal. All the previous models jumped at least $2k to upgrade another 2 feet, this one is $1,500. HHHmmm, anyone interested in a slightly used 19'??

Since the axle ratings have went up by 500lb, perhaps GVWR will go up by 1000lb to 6000lb?
