5.0 TA bed size

Considering a 5.0TA and wonder what the bed dimensions are. Hoping it's a real queen size and 60x80. Thanks.

On edit: it feels a few inches shorter as the front wall is pitched back.

My mattress is a bit forward, leaving a small gap between it and the wall. I like this because it allows some ventilation and my CPAP hose fits down there. But it also gives my full use of my mattress.

It's not only a fully sized queen, it's also a very comfortable mattress (IMO).

We do the same but with a 3" latex topper, which I forgot about. It'd feel a little bigger without the topper.

And if you love your foam king, with a little electric knife work and some tailoring on the cover, it fits fine with 3-4” gaps on the side as well!

Thank you for posting this reply with pictures, I was wondering if I could fit a twin size bed sideways and it looks like the answer to that is yes.

I sleep on a twin, but still leave it front to back, but pushed over to the drivers side. One of the faults of the Scamp loft with the front bath is the bed ran side-to-side which mean head in one window, feet in the other. It's liable to be the same if you turn the bed in an Escape.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely keep that in mind if I do get the 5.0. It's looking like it may not be the best option with my TV (king pin weight would probably be closer to the payload capacity than I would prefer).

Ya we’re really happy with the mattress as well, and we also scooted it down an inch for ventilation at the head of it.

We are picking our 2018 5.0TA up on November 2. What size comforter or blanket do you use. While the bed is queen size, its low due to no box spring. Would a full size comforter work? I know I can tuck the comforter under the mattress. Thanks for input.

If you go the ETI website and click on measurements for the 5.0 you will see 60x80 for the bed size

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I know the size of the mattress. However most blankets and comforters allow sufficient extra fabric on the sides to accommodate a mattress and boxspring. Since there is not a box spring on the 5.0TA and I'd rather not have a foot or more of extra fabric to tuck underneath the mattress. Wondered what others have done. Just tuck the sides under? Used a full sized blanket or comforter? Thanks.

Seems to me if the surface is 60x80 then you know the minimum size needed and can go from there, adding a foot makes it 72x92 means you have 6" of side coverage all around and if you pull it down to cover the exposed end then you have complete exposed coverage. So I guess it depends on what size you can find.

And it is also about how much 'cover' you need while sleeping. There's a huge difference between how something looks on the bed when no one is in it, versus a couple of bodies needing covers. And not to sound insensitive, but 'thinner' bodies may need less than 'fluffy' bodies. Fortunately, due to the cubbies up front, you can let the sides hang down on each side of the mattress and fold up excess at the top under the pillows. I know I'd rather have too much than not enough! YMMV

Good points. Donna, I'll just order a queen size down Blanket. Speaking as a fluffy person who likes to be covered up in bed married to someone who rolls up in the blanket the second I leave to visit the bathroom. Thanks for replies .

We use a queen size everything, including the electric blanket and the down comforter.
