A Better DIY Adapter to Blow-out Water Lines

Just about any small compressor with a tank will work, charge the tank up full, then open the valve and the air in the tank will provide the volume needed to blow out the lines. A small compressor without a tank will have difficulty providing the airflow needed.

Normally I advise people in your situation, that normally don't have a lot of use for a compressor, to just buy an refillable air tank. You fill them at a service station and they will do small jobs like that. But at that price, it just wouldn't make sense. And who knows, once you have a compressor you might find they do have other uses.

All this talk about winterizing is giving me a headache. Today, the cushions are coming out for home storage, maybe batteries (I'll see how I'm feeling) and THINKING about blowing out the waterlines, etc.

I don't own a "real" compressor and don't want to spend a ton of money. Do y'all think this would work? Based on the specs, I could actually pick it up and move it around as needed: 3 gal. 1/3 HP 100 PSI Oilless Pancake Air Compressor

Fortunately, HF is only about 4 miles from me...

Hi: Donna D... I use an "Air pig" to do mine. I get it filled at my tire store and keep it handy in the garage. Car, truck, Trailers, lawn mowers, wheel barrow, and bikes etc. usually need some air for something!!! Alf
