First. I am in the big city. Did you know they have indoor plumbing?

Second. I got a job at the Dexter axel factory. I pump the greese in the EZ-Loob axels. You know how uncle Zeke always says I’m stoopid? Well, I got learnt how to loob the axels in only 2 minutes. And to prove I’m smarter than the last guy that did my job my boss said to put in 5 pumps of greese but I put in 20 pumps!

Take care.
Your son.

I repacked the bearings for the first time this morning. I can only imagine this letter (above) was the explanation of why there was about a pound of grease on one of my spindles. There was so much, it had blown the seal, and contaminated the brake mechanism. FORTUNATELY, none of the grease had gotten on the shoes, so I didn't have to replace them.

Can you tell I am not a fan of E-Z Lube axles?

Reminds me of a guy who worked for me. Sent him to fix a leak in a copper water line. He did not shut the water off. So the line was charged with cold water. My foreman went to check on him after about three hours. He was eating donuts, had a 5 lb. roll of solder emptied and setting in a pile of slag on the floor. And the line still leaked. His quote “didn’t know I had to drain the line”. He lasted about a year till he left our employment. He lived with his mom. His mom worked in the packing house. She said it sounded like a half of beef falling off the rail and hitting the floor when he collapsed in the shower and died at about 55. Weighed in at about 435. Takes all kinds.

I was in a car accident once. I still drive/ride in a car. What's your point? Correlation does not imply causation and neither does a letter you make up to feed your confirmation bias.

Sorry for offering up some humour, Donna. I will accept the castigation and adumbrate myself.

I feel the same way about EZ-Lube. Given a free choice I wouldn't have them unless they were on a boat trailer that was repeatably submerged.

The ones that I've had also had way too much grease in them. I much prefer to pack the bearings by hand. Been doing that since I was a teenager and have never ever had a problem.

Count me in as not a fan of EZ Lube hubs. Never used them so I can't say I had a bad experience. The issue is with me. I have trust issues and with something as important as wheel bearings, the minimal extra effort it takes to pull the bearings and lube them manually and actually see and feel that the bearings have a nice jacket of grease is worth it to me.

Hi: JazzDad... I've never had a case of squeaky brakes. Maybe that's because I lube them religiously!!! Alf

I wasn't going to respond to the post but I will .. I understand the OP was trying to be humorous but having a mentally challenged family member I was offended at what I considered an insensitive grab at attention using some others unfortunate lot in life. Just keeping the stereo types alive and well in our society...ok I said my peace let's all camp on to new and exciting adventures

This thread so reflects our current world, workmanship has gone to hell. People are getting so frustrated with all the nonsense everyone is now supposed to accept as the new norm.
Meanwhile others are working overtime digging for reasons to be offended.

In this case I have to agree. If you're looking for a reason to be offended you can find it pretty much anywhere - even where there was no offense intended in the slightest. I recall those halcyon days when people didn't take every little thing seriously - and could even laugh at themselves.

Alf, you sound like the kind of guy who also keeps the blinker fluid topped up. Good on ya.

(wink, wink)

Hmmm Blinker Fluid, I’m not familiar with the term. Course I’ve led a sheltered life, growing up on Cedar Ridge. Oh, oh yeah, that’s Cedar Rapids.

On edit I had to look it up. Blinker fluid is on the shelf right above the muffler belts in the auto parts store. The next aisle over from the left handed monkey wrenches.

I’m still trying to find the correct starter fluid for my starter and the location of the fill plug on said starter
