I've noticed more than a few threads over the last several months where the OP needed to buy or repair something, but were having a hard time finding a business they could trust or that had reasonable prices.

I'm wondering if there could be a thread or sticky where folks could post the business info for places that gave them outstanding service and good prices. Might make it easier to find something if other owners have had a good experience there.

I know there's a product reviews section, but I was thinking of something that focuses on shops.

I could see value to this on several levels.
Foremost to me would be categorized repair shops especially in popular camping areas. Second I would be happy to contribute what I know to be good shops in my local area.
Finally, a source for hard to get items or great hardware stores where the clerks know what they are talking about and nuts and bolts can be purchased one at a time not in packages of three. Good welders, good brake and axle shops and in today's world, good electronics diagnostic shops are invaluable especially when you're in a jam. Could be a pretty long list.

While it sounds good in theory, in practice I'm not sure it would add a lot of value. My point is how quickly threads go off the rails, before too long we'd be right back to searching.

Sounds to me like it would require a searchable spreadsheet. A lot of work for somebody.
Only thing I can contribute is that I emailed Osoyoos RV asking if they would do an onsite service call at the rally and got no reply. A week later I phoned and asked if they could service my fridge at the rally.
I was asked if they could call me back. They never did.

Yeah, might be impractical in a forum format. But, I can see its usefulness. Perhaps a thread dedicated solely to business reviews, and modded occasionally to remove all other posts?

Yeah I know Donna-- lots of work.

EDIT: in order for it to be searchable, the posts would have to start with the city/state/province name. Hmm. Lots of pitfalls.
