This September we will be traveling through Revelstoke and Vernon on our return home from a trip and our plan is to take Hwy 1 and 97A for this leg. Upon looking at possible more interesting routes we find that there appears to be a road from the Three Valley Lake area to Shuswap Falls along the east side of Mabel Lake. This would give us the option of staying at Mabel Lake PP.
Is this road a viable route or one best avoided whilst towing? We find that not all maps agree on whether this route is a rough unimproved road or a maintained graded road, possibly with gravel, or if the road actually goes through at all near the north end? Also, is Mabel Lake PP and this route interesting enough to take vs the Hwy 1 and 97A option?
