Follow these instructions if the ends of the awning lead rail are not fully retracting into the awning box.

First make sure the center of the lead rail is closing properly and is tight to the awning box. If after pushing on the lead rail it seems loose, you will need to reset the motor. These instructions are found on page 9 of the Operating Manual.

Assuming it is just the ends that need to close tighter, you will need a 7/16" wrench or socket and a rubber mallet (or similar). In some cases, if only one side is loose, you still must adjust both sides. If you don't adjust both sides, the lead rail will track off center and not close properly. Damage may occur.

Open the awning approximately 3/4 of the way and switch the awning power off. Loosen the nut shown in the photo below and slide each arm 1/8" toward the end of the lead rail. (they can be tight...hence the rubber mallet) Tighten the nut and close the awning to check the adjustment. If it is still loose, repeat the steps until the ends are snug.

Hope that helps

Reace

Thanks Reace.

If the front is open more than the rear should you still slide them the same amount on each end?

This would fall under the same category as what Reace describes. It sounds like you need to move both exactly the same amount so that the rail closes centered on the case. If you were to adjust one side more than the other it would move the rail a bit off center.

Seems like an easy fix, will try mine today. Wondering what changed or perhaps it went unnoticed, but I thought mine was flush until earlier this week??

cards

Hi Alf,
My Dad was a good card player and keen observer of personality types. He would listen carefully to someone he had not met before and later when I asked him what he thought of the guy he'd say "four hearts and a diamond" which was designed to make me ask what that meant and got the response " four flusher". Which got another explanation and imprinted me for life.
Also commonly used when hunting as "Dave, crawl down into that brush pile and see if you can flush something out of there". I"d crawl into the brush and for a little humor (as he saw it) he'd yell out "Bark a couple times will ya?"

Hi: Iowa Dave... RUFF RUFF!!!Alf
escape artist N.S. of Lake Erie;)

Well today was a fruitful day, adjusted the awning. My bolts were a little loose, almost finger tight and there is a marker on the rail where it is supposed to be. I adjusted each arm out 1/4" and closed the awning, perfecto....gap is gone and back to being flush. Also tightened the bolts to eliminate future issues.
Also did my fridge fix using the left over Proflex from the solar panel fix (I hate opening a new tube of caulk when I have some open) took maybe 10 to caulk, 20 minutes ripping out the original gunk that was used.

You have to get some bugs on your cover, Tom, similar to Red Dog. Yours is too clean to see against your clean walls.....

I will have to give it a go on the adjustment...perfect on delivery 4or 5 times in and out and front sticking out 3/4"

I just redid mine, for the second time. Seems like it maybe a biannual thing.
Just curious...was the front sticking out again? Is something slipping? I have read the instructions and will try in a couple days when we are stationary for a few days.
