I used the gel on my vinyl hot tub cover. After 5 years of sitting in the sun all day, it still looks great so the thinking is vinyl fades before fiberglass so why not try it. I liked the results and kept using it.

Greg, I found just about the opposite. That the gel coat would start to oxidize faster than the vinyl would fade. But, so long as it all gets protected on way or the other, all is good.

Must be that Canadian sun. It only comes out a few months a year and has to make up for all those cloudy days!

True. But to be fair, up this far north that sunshine is concentrated in half the year, just because of the variation in the length of the day.

Seriously, a 17-hour cloudless day in Edmonton (only 16.5 hours in Calgary ) is lot of sunshine for any surface to handle.
