Also locked out!

So went to see our 21C in the storage yard today and I can’t get in, the door won’t unlatch. We have the Bauer EM electronic door latch. The deadbolt won’t retract either electricly or with the key. Any suggestions? It worked fine when I was at the trailer a couple of weeks ago. Almost seems like the deadbolt - latch connection has broken somehow.

Know any small people? I can get my head inside the outside hatch. Not sure if I could make it through under the bed but a small person could. That could prevent a destructive entry if no easy solution is found.

That should have a key as well. Is that frozen or just no power to the keypad?

I don’t have a lock like that but an internet search suggests pushing on the door near the lock to unload the deadbolt. Perhaps vary the force applied.

Thanks for the suggestions! I had pushed on the door as I tried to get it to unlock but had no success.
I went back to the trailer this afternoon and did 3 things:
1. Moved the trailer slightly to change stress on the frame
2. Sprayed silicone lube into the lock area as best I could
3. Used a tool to gently pry outward on the door ( one of the Harbor Freight PITTSBURGH Nonmarring Scraper Set)

It popped open!
Not sure what exactly the problem was, but I checked the tightness on all the strike plate screws, they seemed tight. I sprayed more silicone into the lock. I shut, locked, unlocked and opened the door several times with no issues.

Maybe gremlins?

There are NO gremlins.

Just bugs.
And you had to reboot your electronic door lock.
That's just the way it seems with electronics.

Those little Harbor Freight plastic chisel sets that only cost ten or twelve bucks are well worth it. I’ve had a set for 11 years and have used them a lot. They work well for removing caulk in tough places.

I’ve had problems in the past if the trailer not level and the door frame has flexed enough to catch. I readjusted the strike plate and used silicon on the frame. Sounds like you’re on the right solution path. Electronics or not, the key should retract the deadbolt if the door is adjusted correctly.
