I use Simonize Wash 'n' Wax and a bit of elbow grease. It's not that much work.
Have you got a son-in-law or potential son-in-law?![]()
Great sweeping... in one stripe, and someone has to stand around yelling at him when to sweep.I have the Canadian Junior Men's Bronze Medalist curler from this year!
I'm sure he knows how to sweep. Now can he scrub?!?
30 Seconds is a very expensive solution considering a dilution of bleach and Trisodium Phospate accomplish the same thing at a fraction of the cost. I use a mixture of these for much of my exterior home and yard surfaces, but wouldn't use either solution on Gelcoat without some professional advice. BTW I have tried 30 Seconds a couple of times and went back to the TSP/Bleach solution.

Hi: Tworainy... I swear by LA'sAwesome Cleaner. Works wonders on the awning, and the black streaks under the windows. Best part is it's available at the dollar stores. AlfUp here in the Pacific NW, we get a lot of green slime. Has anyone tried 30 seconds? They say you can use it on RV's, but is it "Escape safe"?
Before picture. I'll shoot After picture when it stops raining in a couple weeks and warms up enough to wash the trailer.
Just a clarification. TSP is a base, not acid, so mixed with bleach it doesn't give off chlorine gas. It's probably too strong for cleaning the Escape, though.
Here you go!
pH of Joy is 9.

ooops forgot to look up the pH of bleach ....
Hi Starving Hyena,Im smirking and really enjoying this .... oh! the things you can learn from this site.
pH of Joy is 9
pH of TSP is 12
ooops forgot to look up the pH of bleach .... do I smell strong chlorine fumes from the exuberance of the amount of bleach I am adding to my wash solution? Or is my solution causing a chlorine off gassing from the bleach?
From the two strong alkaline products, It would be my guess that my wash solution might be hard on the aluminum belly band.
From your interesting moniker, have you been to Anartica? Must be a good story there.
Tom
Hi Starving Hyena,
I'm not sure if you are smirking because you know about chemistry, or because you don't....BUT if the chemicals you mix bleach with are all basic, then you are OK because the chlorine gas is not released. It is only if you use something that is acid that the mixture allows the chemical reaction to release chlorine gas. I learned this the hard way!
And yes, I explored the Antarctica peninsula in 2002....that experience changed my life! It is a long story, but in a nutshell, my company was one of many sponsors of an environmental cleanup by "Mission Antarctica" on King George Island. I was chosen to go by winning an essay contest (!) and spent 3 weeks exploring the Antarctic peninsula in a 67' Challenge yacht and then helped to deliver the yacht to Ushuaia, Argentina. Then I was on the team that represented Mission Antarctica at the World Summit of Sustainable Development in Johannesburg later that year. When I won the contest, my friends at work started calling me "Miss Antarctica", so I use it as an online moniker.
I made a video in 2008 with some of my pictures if you are interested, go to
