April 1, 2016

We have been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to order a 21TA for quite a few months. Recently there has been some big changes in price, and availability appears to be out to at least mid 2017. I'm not excited about the change in deposit from $500 to $2500. Maybe we should wait for some current 21TA owners to decide they need the latest features or possibly the anticipated 24' fifth wheel.

I assume by "21TA" you mean the 21 Foot (or 21') conventional trailer... the "TA" ending (for Tandem Axle) is only used on the 5.0 (fifth-wheel model), which happens to be about the same 21-foot length.

Maybe we should wait for some current 21TA owners to decide they need the latest features or possibly the anticipated 24' fifth wheel.
I think Reace has stated clearly that the 2017 changes do not include floorplan revisions, let alone a whole new larger model, so I wouldn't wait for that 24 Foot.

While steps up to the next size of trailer are common, with the 5.0TA (like any fifth-wheel) requiring a pickup truck, it's not a logical next step for many 21 Foot owners. I don't expect a flood of 21 Foot Escapes to become available due to the 2017 model changes... but I'm only guessing. :)

Sorry. It's been a long day. I meant the 5.0TA is what we are interested in. My reference to a 24' 5th wheel is simply from what several current owners have indicated they would really like to see Escape produce a 24+ 5th wheel. Since we are likely 18 months or more from obtaining a new 5.0 TA who knows what might happen in the future. Maybe there are some changes coming up that would persuade a few current 5.0 TA owners to make a change.

Other than a couple folks joking, I have never heard of anyone actually wanting one. No doubt someone would, but if I was Escape, I sure wouldn't mess with a good thing.

Clarification for priority of possibility of an earlier completion date in 2016

A very important note to consider or discuss at this time!

Would you like an earlier date?

Once the renovations are complete and the kinks have been work through we hope to be able to increase our production. Customers with trailers on order always have priority in regards to receiving their trailer sooner.
We will make a note on your build sheet and contact you WHEN an earlier date becomes available.

Thank you all,
Tammy & Reace

We have a late September completion date for our 2016 19 and would definitely love to get an earlier completion date, as would probably almost everyone else with a post summer completion date. Of course, we would love to be able to use our new trailers this summer. Does the above statement regarding "priority" mean that any earlier spots that do open up in 2016 will be offered to those with trailer on orders in the same order they were originally scheduled to be completed throughout the year? In other words, if a spot opens up in July, would it be offered to the person with a scheduled completion date in August before a person with a scheduled completion date in October?

If I were operating Escape and dealing with US customers with the unknown exchange rate, I'd try to close out those who have already paid in full the entire purchase price versus ones with just a deposit amount. The unknown future can be an expensive lesson on both sides of the fence. But, if I owned Escape I would not be in the position I'm in either.

Apparently, they do not move people up in order, or have not, but in this case with the new model coming out, I expect they will be trying to go in order more or less. They have a different situation now with a great deal of back-up and they are aware of everyone wanting their trailers sooner. Just make it a point to tell them that you want to be moved up, if possible, as they will be doing more of that than usual which is why they are asking you to tell them. We were asked and did not want to move because it would have been too fast for us.

I hardly think they have a problem with most people paying for their trailers. They only put a few up that don't go through. I doubt they are worried about collecting in the vast majority of cases and that is probably not what they are looking at for this unless they actually say so.

The possibility of getting a moved up date is one reason to not delay working on your build sheet, getting Formica samples and fabric (if that's one of your options).

We had a four-month bump for earlier delivery in 2014 due to a cancellation. Don't really know the details, but I've always suspected it was done to coincide with wifey's retirement date.

Some folks don't pick up their trailers for a month or more after completion for their own reasons, so I would suspect they pass on an earlier date and the offer would pass on to others down the line of booked orders, though.

It very much appears to me when your crew will work weekend days and extended hours that you do in fact have a great team. Good luck on the landslide you're sure to experiece.

Does this mean people can start contacting ETI at 7am already? Or do they have to wait till 8am as the website says?

My how times have changed. I can recall just three years ago Tammy talking to me about a discount off our 17 b if we picked a winter completion date!

By 8:00 they will probably be giving out 2018 delivery dates. [emoji6]

Cheers

Doug

I hope that you are joking. And I have an honest question, what is the time differential between PST and CDT. We spring forward, so does it become a 3 hour difference? I am getting so confused and excited. Can't wait to see the new model, the better half and I want a 21.

Though Doug is jesting, there is no doubt there will be a bit of a run first thing on the 1st. The time difference is 2 hours. I think a clarification is in order from Escape, as they will be on DST at that time, though I bet that is what they are referring to.
