Atwood furnace fan decibel level, anyone?

When we had the Atwood furnace in our 2015 Escape serviced by Tedco RV in Langley, BC the owner/mechanic said he hadn’t encountered such a quiet RV furnace before. And we second that, as our Nash trailer had a very LOUD furnace.

:thumb: Bob, I sure agree with you about the Atwood. I do not find its noise level in my 2015 5.0TA to be loud at all, even though it is used infrequently. It only gets used when there is no other alternative as I typically rely on a 1,000/1500 watt ceramic heater (always on the 1000 watt setting) which produces roughly the same decibel level as the Atwood furnace. My hearing is very good, but I do sleep with foam earplugs because of a “snoring” problem. Run your fingernails over a chalkboard, it doesn’t bother me, but I find snoring “grates” on me. My spouse has never complained about noise so it would not seem to bother her at night, but she does take exception with every LED indicator light. I really don’t understand that sensitivity. When I close my eyes to sleep, I see nothing! In 5 years I haven’t had any sail switch problems, but we do not travel with pets and I suspect pet hair can find its way into the furnace resulting in sail switch malfunctions.

The Atwood is quiet outside as well. I spent 16 years in commercial airlines and being outside in a campground on a cold night, the camper heaters reminded me of jet engines spooling up for takeoff.
