Awning Drum Off Spindle

During retraction our DC electric Dometic 9500E awning stops several inches away from stowing inside the cassette. With the forward end cap removed I see that the forward end of the drum has come off its spindle which makes it turn eccentcally. I am assuming this condition is preventing complete retraction and stowage into the housing including manually retracting it. Has anyone had this experience and if so how was the problem resolved?

Complicating things is the fact that we are boondocking in Leadville CO dispersed camping area so this would need to be a field repair or else I need to find a way to secure the awning in its unstowed state. I do have a good set of tools but besitate to get too deeply into things out here in the boonies.

Short update on my awning problem. While tying the awning up with wire as near to stowed as possible I noticed a missing screw at the one o’clock position on the forward end plate (see photo) which may have allowed a separation of the awning barrel from its forward end spindle. I’ve got the awning secured for travel and will tackle my problem while back in storage.

Thank you Kosta for taking interest and responding. Literally as the notification of your response here came I had just completed the repair and was reinstalling the end caps. The repair consisted of reinstalling the spindle into the barrel end, resetting extension and retraction limit switches, and importantly, replacing the missing screw. All is good now except that the “jog” which is supposed to occur at the extension limit does not take place inspite of my having followed Dometic’s and Rease’s video instructions on how to do it.

I will take your advice and make contact with after sales support to confirm my finding that the absence of the screw as pictured in post #2 caused the separation of the barrel/drum/roller (whatever it is called) from the spindle in the first place. I'll also get some advice on restoring the jog at the awning extension limit.
