Hi every one,

I am back after a few year hiatus. I have tried to log on several times but had some frustrations navigating the registration process.

We still have our 2011 17b that we had built by the great folks at Escape as the ultimate boondocker. We have put a few miles on her (named 'Ping) both on and off road.

She still shows like a brand new unit :)

In the previous iteration of the forum I was "100MileGord" but since I had to reregister (and I moved 50 miles further up the highway) I rebranded.

Looks like I have a lot of reading to do!

Thanks rb.

What kind of fuel numbers do you get with your ecoboost F150?

I had one until last summer: mileage was unspectacular.
I am getting just as good mileage now with a diesel F350 pulling the Escape and a lot better mileage when pulling heavier trailers.

After near 30 years of having a diesel 3/4 or 1 ton, starting with the first Ram Cummins, I sold my F-350 a couple weeks ago, and am happy to no longer own that big of a truck. You are right that while towing the average fuel economy is not much different, especially in mountainous areas, but I much prefer the size and drivability of the smaller truck especially when not towing the trailer. I still use my F-150 to tow my construction dump trailer (though not at the full 14,000 lb limit), and I have a cargo trailer behind it almost all the time for work. Amazing power from such a small engine.

I'm going to agree with Jim. While our towing mileage isn't as good as I'd hoped for - average about 15.5 mpg towing - it's more than made up for when we are not towing - about 25.5 mpg. Add to that the smooth quiet ride and the ease of parking, etc, and we are pretty pleased.

No truck is needed to pull a 17' as many here well know and they have gas mileage that is even better.
