Sorry to be so basic but.....I am not yet an owner but am very interested. In fact, I plan to go see several models at Brazos State Park here in Texas where there is a rally starting Dec 28. I have two questions:
1. On the 5.0 5th wheel - where are the propane tanks located?
2. When trying to level the 5th wheel when parking/camping, is the process automatic or manual?

Thanks.

The propane tanks are in a compartment on the front trailer wall behind the hitch. I'll let Donna or another 5.0TA owner explain the function of the levelers.

The propane tanks are located inside a compartment under the overhang (sleeping loft). Leveling from side to side is manual, that is, you use blocks or something else under the wheels. Leveling from front to back is accomplished by independently operated landing gear legs (2).

Magnificant! Thanks for the quick response. I am sure you remember the impending "purchase excitement" phase where you had all kinds of simple questions. Thanks.

thanks for the explanation. Very helpful.
Hi: MacMan... Here's a pic. of our 5.0TA set up with the electric front landing gear down and the manual rear stabilizers extended. We stayed only one night so didn't unhook the truck... but no tripod is needed under the pin box either.
A pic. of the propane bottle compartment in the front of the trailer. Alf

Alf, thanks for the pics. Very helpful for us. What kind of truck do you have to pull the 5.0? I am thinking of getting a Tundra. Will that work?

Welcome Tom (MacMan), sorry... I prefer calling people by their given names instead of some strange screen name. Keeps things friendly instead of hidden. YMMV

You've received answers exactly as I would have said... except LOVE MY 5.0TA! If you decide that's what you want... I don't think you'd be disappointed if you do searches based on YOUR needs.

Hi: MacMan... We are still using our 2010 Nissan Frontier that we used to pull our 2007 Escape 5.0 with. The beauty of the 5.0TA with the leaf spring suspension is it can be set up to whatever sized pickup you want to tow with.
Changing from the single axle 5.0 to the tandem axle 5.0TA dropped our fuel economy by about 1 mpg. The only modification I did to the truck was to add extendable trailer tow mirrors due to the extra 8" width of the new trailer. Alf
