Batts

Good point...
before it (apparently) became standard, I think this switch was only included in trailers which had the battery (or batteries) mounted inside the body.
Our 17B had dual 6'rs on the bumper and had the switch without it being an option. Inconsistent at best seems to have been the practice. Running a small factory with workers coming and going is inevitably going to result in mistakes being made. Why is that so hard for some to accept? Seems almost sacrilegious to dare say.

And, maybe that was why you had a switch.
Why one needs to automatically speculate that ETI did something wrong, rather than finding out why one model of trailer or build in one year or another is the reason for there not being a switch, it what boggles my mind.
Perhaps, like with my 17B, it's pretty easy and cheaper to just disconnect one of the battery terminals.
Different models with different options have different build requirements.

I have a January 2014 19' with dual batteries in the front storage box. On my build sheet I have a note from ETI which says:

Battery isolator switch std. with Dual 6V batteries

With more accessible outside batteries (most or all 19', all 17', and perhaps the smaller models) there is less reason to have the switch - you can open the battery box and remove the negative cable for storage or for service work. The 21', 5.0, and 5.0TA have batteries mounted inside, so presumably all would have the switch, even before it became standard on other models.
Our 2013 19 has the front storage box with dual batteries and we got the shut off switch . Never asked for it but glad we got it . Pat
