Beachcomber trailers

I do not know the percentage of Escape forum owners who are also on the Fiberglass forum. However there is a recent thread on Finerglass detailing the History of the Beachcomber trailer in the 1970’s. I found it fascinating even though I’ve never been in a beachcomber and have only seen a couple. At any rate, the downfall of the Beachcomber was the Iranian oil crisis which caused the price of oil to increase drastically and therefore the costs of components for fiberglass trailer construction also went up. I post this to remind those concerned about cost increases regardless the product, are the result of shifts in worldwide economies and not necessarily unjustified profit taking etc. In my opinion the article is very worthwhile read at any rate.
