Hi, all! I'm a new owner of a 5.0 and need to get a 5th wheel hitch installed on my truck. Any recommendations on an installer in New England (preferably in or near Maine)? I've found a few nearby that I'm planning on contacting, but it's always nice to have a first-hand recommendation if possible. Thank you!

Almost any RV dealer can install the rails in the bed of your truck, or a gooseneck hitch if you plan to use an aluminum Andersen hitch. Neither installation is particularly difficult. Google could find you many possibilities.

Consider calling a frame and axle shop and ask them if they regularly do this kind of work. Welding, beefing up, precise measuring and a full understanding of towing and structural improvements is their specialty. Just my opinion. I especially like certified welders. I cannot weld and respect their talent and understanding of metals. Just my opinion.

I've had rails and hitches installed in four trucks. Once was at Trademasters in Chilliwack when we picked up our Escape, a couple times at a local trailer hitch shop and the other was at a local utility trailer dealer. There are several other non-RV trailer dealers in the area who specialize in that type of work. They all seem to know their business well and in my experience hitches usually come with vehcile-specific installation instructions too.
Granted we live in a city but not a large one by US standards. I suspect there would be trailer and hitch shops in most regions. Sorry I can't recommend a specific one in your area.
