Build Sheet Almost Done, A Few ?

I have wondered what you get for the $175.00 External Fridge Fan. Is it an after market fan system which goes on and off whenever the fridge cycles on? Is this an easy add on later if it is needed? Will I save propane using it? Does it work on both propane and 120v usage of the fridge? I'm in Colorado and don't plan on getting the Air Conditioner option either. I would also have the freezer stuffed with the reusable ice blocks.

Things may have changed since my 2014 model but my fridge had the optional Texas Fridge Fan, which may be the same as the external fan.

A small boxer/computer fan mounted to the back of the fridge for extra cooling, it exhausted in the up position. It came with a thermistor on/off switch as well as a manual override, also at the back of the fridge, that you'd throw if it was hot.

I use the past tense as it was removed from my trailer when swapping to the double door fridge.

Price sounds about right, mine was a $150 option.

The external fan option is a thermostatically controlled 12v fan installed by Escape that is supposed to help the refrigerators, whether old style or new. Do they work, that is up to you to decide. Several members have added their own fans after delivery, depends on how handy you are.

I guess they offer the external fridge fan for the 2017. We are getting the 2016 and when I added the fan to my build sheet this is the response I got from Krista:

"Your list matches mine, except for the external fridge fan. The 2016 already comes with one, so I did not add that to your list."

I assume the 2016 comes with a different refridgerator than the 2017.

I noticed on the latest build sheet they have made the storage cubbies outside the bathroom door standard and no charge.

Yes, the 2016 has the classic build with the narrower door, thus the original style refer, the 2017 has the flat bigger door opening and a different refer. Who knows the difference with the fan set up, it is an option for 2017 though.
For the 21' the cubbies are nice, for those items often misplaced, kleenex, keys, dog leads, bags, shoes etc,

Oooo, I'll have to write to Sarah about that as we don't want those cubbies. Thanks for this tidbit of information, Stephen! :thumb:

I thought the ETI door side cubbies were pretty wasteful of a handy space, so installed a half-height cubby with much bigger pockets for shoes. Leaves room to hang jackets above. Have sold a few of these to other 21 owners.

Very nice Charlie. Might have to consider this option.

I just turned in my build sheet and was charged for the cubbies. They are also still on the options list. Storage Cubby Cabinet Bins for Outside Bathroom Door $150.00

You might have just got a freebe;)

Don't know. Here's exactly what it says:

26JUL16 VTD Storage Cubby Cabinet Bins for Outside Bathroom Door - now standard N/C

Did you turn in your build sheet prior to the 26th?

I turned my build sheet in on the 19th. You know, sometimes procrastination DOES pay off.:banghead:

I also was told last Thursday afternoon that the cubbies are now included standard at no extra charge.

Yeah, this is what Tammy emailed me when I inquired. I'm bummed as neither of us really like the looks of those cubbies. It gives the trailer a very cluttered look (we feel) to have stuff in there and I planned to put stuff in the cabinets and drawers where they're out of sight. Guess we'll just have to suck it up. :(

It doesn't have a cluttered look to us as the curtain is covering it except when it is drawn at night to help keep out AM light. It is like a plus-sized RX cabinet and then some.

So that means they can't be deleted? Strange.

Although I don't have anything invested in this decision, I agree. But I'm betting you can figure something out to make it look more appealing.

I also don't understand why it couldn't be deleted but then I'm not in the trailer-making business.
