Signed our build sheet yesterday for our 2017 19ft. When we started our build sheet journey little did we know how beneficial all the input from the forum members would be. Thanks to all who answered our crazy questions and helped to steer us in the right direction. This is a fantastic group of Escape and camping enthusiasts who have a passion for what we hope will be many years of exploring and adventure. From pup tent to small dome tent to large dome tent to small pop-up to a larger pop-up and now to the Escape. What a long strange trip it's been.:

Just sent in my list of options for the build sheet. Now I wait for Sarah to turn it into a real build sheet, find the total cost :whistling:, sign it and return to ETI. Then wait until January as my build was moved up two weeks. Though right now not picking up until right before the Appreciation Rally.

Just sent ours off to Sarah today. It was helpful to: A) get to some rallies and talk with owners (thanks to all of you who took time to talk with us). go to Chilliwack and spend a few hours over the course of 3-4 days talking directly with Reace and Sarah to get our first draft of the build sheet started. And C) have friends going through the same process at the same time to bounce ideas off - thanks Reddog and Dora! Now it's time to hold on and be patient as we wait for our new delivery date of 19 Jan!

Dave,
We are excited for you for getting your Escape 21 on January 19. I would like to find out what size of Contoure Convection Microwave Oven that you ordered. Is it 1.2 or 1.0 cu ft.? we had seen it in a Airstream trailer. It looks nice.

Tonny

Congrats! I also signed off on my build sheet a couple days ago. Now we're getting our trailer 3 weeks early! Feb 21 is completion date and our orientation and pick up is Feb 24 ;D

Tonny,
I think our convection microwave is 1.2 cubic feet.

Welcome to "the 19 club"! And if you are going to love your trailer as much as we do, you are sitting good: going to be an Escape camper for the rest of your life! Enjoy!!!

Have you confirmed that the microwave will fit? I received the following microwave cabinet measurements from Escape and verified them in a new 21.

The Cabinet Opening (Hole): 18 ½” wide x 11 ½” tall
The Actual Cabinet (Cavity): 20 1/8” wide x 12” tall x 23 ¼” deep

According to the manufacturer, Contoure 1.2 cu ft Convection Microwave has the outside dimensions of 20-7/16" W x 12-3/8" H x 18-13/16" D.

That doesn't seem to work out.

Correct you are! However we sat down with Reace and he is going to give it a go on putting the microwave in the cabinet under the cooktop rather than in the microwave compartment. We took all the specs for clearance to him and he measured it all out. Looks like it will work even with a flush mount cooktop. We're pretty excited about how it should look/work. We're weird campers I guess because we LOVE having a convection microwave so it was sort of a "must have" for us. Best brownies and cookies anyone could ask for and cornbread is out of this world too. Reace was awesome in working with us on it. It could end up being a one of a kind if it's real difficult.

Hello Dave,
Is your Contoured convection microwave mounted with a trim kit? Flush mount cook top with a convection microwave underneath is first class.

Yes, it will be. Final install will be on delivery date. Reace has measured out the cabinet so it will have correct clearance and ventilation - we will pick up the microwave from O'connor RV about 3/4 mile from ETI - they're holding it for us. We got the cooktop from O'connor also. They're awesome for getting anything you need - they can order it in to right there. No need to mess with customs or shipping and prices are relatively the same as buying stuff in the States. We got our Horst Probes and solar connector through them too.

O'Connor RV is a very good idea for that sort of thing. We shipped several small items to Escape to have them installed during the build, and considering the fact that the mail rates were outrageous, we might have been better off buying them locally through O'Connor.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for sharing info of ordering equipments from O"connor RV. It really saves shipping and custom duty. Is your flush mount cooktop same as the cooktop that Robert B recently upgraded in his trailer? please post pictures when you pick up your trailer in January 2017.

Tony, we wanted the SMEV cooktop but apparently ETI had problems with a previous installation because of the very small edges. Ours is a Suburban 2 burner drop in with a drop in flush cover glass cooktop. I haven't seen Robert's pics.
