We put a Disco-O-Bed XL cot across the dinette of our 2014 21C and it fits perfectly. We've used it a couple of times now and it's a great solution for anyone wanting to add more sleeping space to a 21C. The side also pops up pretty easily and allows us to still use the table while keeping the cot set up. We have 3 kids using this arrangement. I saw a different post about trimming it down for a 19, but it fits without modification in the 21.

I'm not even sure you can order the cot option in the 21C, in either case, nice addition of a cot. Who gets to be on top and complain that the person below is "kicking" them? :)

Nice ! Thanks for sharing. Fixes the "no cot option" that the 21 had vs. the 19. Quick question though.

Did you just take a standard Diso-O-Bed XL cot, and place it in the dining space ? No leg extensions on the cot, just a base cot ? i.e. Disc-O-Bed Single Camping Cot

We like the 21C floorplan but the lack of cot option was an issue for kid space. This definitely fixes that. The kids love being on the top bunk. It fits like a glove…no rocking and not an inch to spare on either side against the walls.

This does have the extensions, so it’s half of the disc-o-bed bunk. The single would not be high enough unless you bought extensions separately.

Gotcha, I think, you used the top 1/2 of the Disc-O-Bed XL Bunk Bed, correct?

That makes sense, because, yes, I wondered about the clearance using the Base Bed. It looked like, with the Base Bed, similar to the sleeping quarters I had on the USS Raleigh, roll over and your shoulder hits the guys bunk above you - the bad old days.

Thanks for posting this solution on adding a bunk bed option to the 21.

That’s the one. I used the top bunk. There’s definitely shoulder room to roll over. I’m pretty sure discobed also sells leg extensions. If you got the single bed and then added the extensions it would probably work.

I would prefer the size Large width so it takes up a bit less space but Costco had a great deal on the XL bunk set when I was looking. The XL version also works better for us big guys when I take them out of the Escape and use them at hunting camp.
