We need advice on proceeding with a fix for our situation! The intake pipe into our water pump developed a bubble and then a hole which was spewing water like crazy. But we were on city water at the time!
Ours is a 2015 21, original pump. City water had a regulator on it. What we don’t understand is the relationship of the city water to the pump, and why all of a sudden this intake pipe would burst.
We also need advice on the best way to access the intake pipe for replacement.
No water in fresh tank, we checked that. The pump was used about 2 weeks ago with no problems.

There is a check valve in the pump that should stop city water pressure from going back thru the pump to the fresh water tank. Sometimes trash gets in the check valve or it simply doesn't seat correctly, and when it does, your fresh water tank fills up.

I have no idea why your hose is suddenly pressurized, that would indicate that the entire fresh water tank is also pressurized.

You can buy a plastic check valve from Amazon for around $10 and PVC fitting from Lowe’s/Home Depot/almost any hardware store and use it on the outflow side of the pump. It will eliminate forever problems with the pump’s internal check valve and is far easier to replace than disassembling the Shur-Flo to service or replace the internal check valve.

city water pressure can be all over the place. you should use a pressure regulator set to about 50 PSI before hooking it to the trailer. I prefer the regulators that have an adjustment and a pressure gauge... if the tap can't deliver more than 40 PSI, I remove the regulator (run into this a few times, also run into water systems that surge up over 90 PSI)

As John wrote, you should use a pressure regulator when connecting direct to a water source (Hose Bib). I like this one with the Oil Filled pressure Guage. The Guage is more acurate and is adjustable.

Renator is a good brand

We did have a pressure regulator on, same one for several years. Can one suddenly fail? We definitely will replace the current regulator and install a new pump as well. (We carry a spare pump.) It seems like we should replace the old hose as well, but looks like the only way to access connections is to either remove the whole panel or cut into it and create an access panel. Unfortunately we are 900 miles from home and tools to do that. A temp fix would be to hope there is enough extra tube to pull out and attach to the pump.Am I missing anything else that we should be aware of? Hoping little Deming,NM has what we need!We are at City of Rocks now.

I was impressed by the work done on my furnace by Jimmy's RV Repair in Deming...

Thanks to everyone for your help! We stopped by Jimmy’s RV in Deming for parts and he was super helpful! ( Thanks, Vermilye!) We were able to work our way into the cabinet under the frig from the front and carefully push the outlet hose just enough to allow us to connect the new pump under the dinette. We also purchased a new regulator. Once home in a few weeks, we will likely cut into the panel where the hose is and create an access so we can replace the whole outlet hose, and order the water regulator suggested here. (No one had it here, and we leave for Oliver Lee Memorial tomorrow.) We are monitoring everything closely but so far so good! Thank you again!!
