We are delighted to say we are also going to be new Escapees , and shall be picking our 15fter up in August !
Have worked out a few mods and just know we will enjoy it for a long time !

A newbie to the forum and a hatching coming up... wooohoo!!!!!

Welcome to the EscapeForum, these nice people let me hang out here ;) so I wanted to welcome you!

Hey hey .... Hat Lady ... Thank you ..... so nice to see you here !

Welcome aboard, and congrats on your new purchase. Definitely lots of good times ahead for you.

There are a few Escape owners around and about nowadays, with the numbers continually growing.

Congrats!! you won't be disappointed, it a great company to work with..

Thank you , we are finding it a good experience , have read a lot of " positives "on this site . We did view a 15fter and were impressed with the workmanship . The first Escape we ever saw was on an evening walk 6-7 years ago - parked on the street close to home ( peeked through the windows ) . Although we had no clue as to owner or where it was made , we looked it up on line . Had a pretty new Trillium at the time , but were impressed even then . So yeah... we are pretty happy !

Will you be getting a front storage box? I haven't seen a 15 footer with one yet. I was hoping to see a pic some day. In any event, congrats and welcome to the forum. ;)

Hmmmm ......... one of us was for the storage box ( because of a dislike of any tool type thingees inside the trailer ) and the other preferred to have the outside access hatch . As the trailer does have enough storage for our use - the hatch person won that one ...... however if there were to be more compelling reasons than "no tools on the inside please " maybe the winner could have a change of heart ! Should that come to pass , we shall post ......thanks for the welcome - great forum - very helpful .

I'm only guessing, but I would think that the shorter the trailer, the greater impact of weight distribution.

So, if you put a box on the front and filled it with tools, you might have an issue.

I don't have the Escape box, but I do have a storage box on the back of my 17B. I suspect that it just facilitates carrying more stuff than I need. I can't remember the last time I used the 5lb. maul.

Before I had the box at the back, I stored hoses etc. in boxes that traveled in the aisle, inside the trailer and got shoved under the trailer when at camp.

If I get the Old Bag that bike for her birthday, I'll have to remove the storage box to accommodate a bike carrier and go back to my old system.

Still, those that have the Escape box seem to love them.

Easy to like that storage box - perfectly compliments the cabin .

Transferring the weight from front to back and back to front is important to keep enough tongue weight is the thing. The front storage box keeps the floor of the trailer nice and clear.

Guess we won't be the ones to post a pic with a storage box on an Escape 15 ....... all the compelling reasoning seems to side with the exterior hatch choice no matter how pleasing the esthetics ............ however on the subject of extra insulation and thermal windows , having reasoned out that it may not make a lot of difference because of size , there does seem to be reason enough to reconsider that ...............

I think the insulation and window upgrade are the best thing you could add, it can't be done later. Whether to keep the heat in, or out, it is a valuable thing to have from an energy savings and comfort standpoint.

The storage box could always be added later. We have no need for one with the 19 as we find it has more than enough storage for our needs, but with a 15, I am not so certain.

Yeah .... we've rethought that -due to - and really appreciate the input . This Escape 15 is a size upnotch for us ( the Escape is a total quality upgrade ) , we weren't so sure about the extra insulation and thermal windows because of it's size , but we will be calling Reace this morning to add that ( just don't want to call too early with the hour difference) . Thank you

After careful consideration ( including tongue weight ) we have after all decided to have the Escape storage box on our 15 fter. We saw one almost ready to go with it on when we visited the factory - it really does look good !
