can anyone point me to weather in canada so I can check the forecast, Tammy said a storm was brewing and may delay delivery.

In the Lower Mainland of BC when the first snowflake falls we completely panic, forget how to drive and run into each other.
On the other hand, we are great drivers in the rain.

Larry from Cloverdale.
(We will likely be slapping down our 500 next year will the view to take delivery of a 19 in March 2015. Then we'll do some traveling!)

Jim, if you are driving up to get your trailer and tow it back, what route will you be taking to and from Chilliwack?

If you are coming north from Seattle on I-5 through the Blaine, WA border crossing, or north to the Sumas, WA crossing you should be fine. The closer you are to the coast (I-5), the more likely you will encounter rain rather than snow.

The Sumas Prairie section of Highway 1 east of Chilliwack can be treacherous in blowing snow, but there's likely no reason you would go there if you are planning to retrace your route back to the USA and go home on I-5.

Jim and others, please disregard my previous post. I moved to the Island 30 years ago and my grasp of Fraser Valley geography has deteriorated. Part of the Sumas Prairie section of Highway 1 is west of Chilliwack, and is not a good place to be in blowing snow conditions. The Escape team will be a better source of weather and road information than me, and probably better than the weather services and media, too.

I think Jim is worried about the tractor/trailer that is carrying his Escape. If it makes you feel any better we had ours delivered during a May snowfall. The driver took his time when the conditions were bad and the seven day trip took eight days.

Hi: cpaharley2008... I think Tammy's instructions to the transport driver include the phrases "No heroics", "No Humpty Dumpty", and "Get it there safe"!!!
You'll have this Escape for a while...maybe... so what's an extra day or two now? Alf
escape artist N.S. of Lake Erie;)

Yeah, we have had blizzard conditions the past couple days here in Calgary. Driving is painfully sloooooooow................ A couple major highways shut down too.

Not sure of the route of the truck though.

You can use just about any weather service, and put in the cities where you expect the truck to be.

Don't worry about a thing cpaharley, we had a meeting and canceled your order until spring!

And there is a good reason why your order was cancelled. There has been a lot of snow in Canada recently and the roads are now impassable.

As JMac mentioned, it will be spring before they get the roads cleared enough to allow traffic to continue.

Temperature was -30°C on my way into the office this morning. For some reason I am thinking about retirement and warm climates.

It was -30°C at 5:30 this morning here. Right now, (8:30AM) it has dropped to -34° (-29°F). Going to have to dig the longjohns out methinks. :D

Wow, that is cold, do you guys leave your vehicles plugged in at night with engine heaters?

Didn't plug in the block heater last night. Don't normally do so unless temperatures are supposed to get below about -30°C. Will probably plug in tonight, since it is supposed to get a bit colder yet, and my FJ was a bit PO'd at me this morning for not plugging it in.

At that temperature your oil is like grease. I've heard that the first 10 seconds an engine is operating while below -0- is without any lubricant. That is why oil or antifreeze circulating heaters are beneficial.

We are not completely escaping winter here in southern Arizona. At Lost Dutchman State Park it was 27°F this morning. It is suppose to get up to 65° today...
