The cargo carrier is from Amazon, it is aluminum (no rusting) and only weighs 26 pounds and is rated for 500 lbs. The folding hinge I got from Etrailer, works really well and gave the perfect amount of extension to clear the rear tire and also raises the cargo cargo a few inches to increase ground clearance.
As far as the tire cover, yes, it is the Washington State University logo, which is a cougar and also the cougar logo spells WSU. Most people just think it is a cougar logo and do not see that it is actually the letters WSU making the logo.
The trailer name was put on incorrectly, was supposed to be The Far Side Escape but turned out to be The Far Side Express. Reace gave me a new emblem / sticker to put on when the weather gets better, I will leave it up to my parents if they want to change the name, but after seeing how many "escape" logos are on the trailer, maybe it will be better off as the express?
Folks who know the comic Gary Larson know of his comics “The Far Side”. Gary Larson went to WSU and started making his comics while attending WSU. WSU was primarily an agriculture school, so that is where Gary got all of his farm animal characters for his cartoons. WSU is located in eastern Washington along the Idaho border. Gary’s family lived in Western Washington, so when Gary would go over to school in eastern Washington, they referred to it as “The Far Side”, which is where Gary got his name for his cartoons, the far side cartoons…
Being that my parents and I lived in eastern Washington and now western Washington, we named the trailer “The Far Side Escape” as at least I will be taking the trailer to WSU for football games and I am sure my parents will take the trailer over to eastern Washington as well….
