Heads up on a small, inexpensive campground in northern Florida. Check out the Cary State Forest. 6 very large sites along a .62 mile loop - in most cases you cannot see any other sites from yours. $13.51 (plus tax & reservation fees) - Worked out to $15.29 per night for a 8 night stay. Sites are water & electric on concrete pads with grill, fire ring & picnic table. There is even a bench for the fire ring on my site (site 2). Long walk to the bathroom (.2 miles) with hot showers. Some train noise, otherwise quiet.

We just left another state forest in Florida-Myakka, north of Fort Myers. Similar situation. 10 sites very private. No service bring water. Less than $10USD a night. Was pretty empty but you have to book through recreation.gov to get the gate code.
