Cassette Toilet Option?

My wife and I camp often at Corps of Engineers sites that have no services other than vault toilets. A cassette toilet is a really convenient way to handle waste at these places. I was wondering if Escape offered cassette toilettes as an option...if anyone has ever asked before?

Thanks,

zz

Welcome ZZLay, to our little world. I have used cassette toilets in the past and like them for their versatility. that said Escape does not use them nor install them. Once you use the regular toilet there is no looking back. That said, you can order a Escape 17 without the bath option and always install one yourself, if you have any fiberglass skills. Otherwise the other models come with bath as standard.

As far as I know, the only moulded fiberglass trailer offered in North America with a cassette toilet is the Lil Snoozy (for which a Thetford C-200CS is an option). That one was designed for the cassette toilet - no other toilet is available - which is important. The unit is installed against a flat vertical outside wall and the cassette is removed from the unit through an access door in the wall, which is easy to arrange in an RV with a flat vertical side, but would require a specifically designed opening with a moulded door in a moulded fiberglass body. The Lil Snoozy solution is that the access door is in the flat back wall of the trailer (it's the lower left hatch in the photo)

It could be done as a later modification, with significant effort, but it wouldn't fit into the production process of an Escape.

I had one in my Dutchman T@da, the nice thing about mine was it was self contained in that it had it's own water supply. In the winter I filled it with auto windshield antifreeze for use. LilSnoozy pulls it supply from the main tank and it would have to be winterized.

I love the idea of a cassette toilet, as we almost exclusively boondock, and it would be quite convenient. It would also rid the trailer of the need for a black tank, and the piping. Unfortunately, not easily doable with the moulded shape of the Escape.

Appreciate the information. There are places where cassettes do great. We have a flush potty in our current TT...it works great in places with hookups or dump stations.

Jim, since Escape listened to your input in the past, maybe you can sway them to offer the cassette as an option, something to think about for that future 5.0 TA.....

cassette toilet

We have the Snoozy and we have the 4.5 gallon cassette without its own water supply Thetford also offer a 5 gallon cassette toilet that come with its own water supply this is usually installed in some of NA truck campers . That was one of the reasons I bought the Snoozy plus large rear door and screen door . I just wish it had more storage like the Escape models
We are still looking at the 19 and 5.0TA Lots of decisions Jim
