Changes to the 21' down the road ?

One reason we're moving from a 17-foot Casita to a 21-foot Escape was for the bed layout. No one has to climber over anyone to get out of bed in the night with the 21-foot layout. We looked at the 19-foot Escape but saw that it's basically just a scaled up Casita with the same bed layout which would present the same uncomfortable problem.

I agree with you Bobsmith, the 21 ft is ideal for getting in and out of bed, I wouldn't change that. We have a 06 Casita 17 SD, and it gets old during the night climbing in and out of bed with crosswise bed. I could see us upgrading to a 21 ft Escape eventually. I like the layout.

The 25B21RB is one of the 21' Bigfoot layouts... just to help keep them straight, Bigfoot's current travel trailers have model names which describe them:

• 25 - means 2500 series (the current design)
• B - just means Bigfoot (there are other letters for other types of Bigfoot RV, such as "C" for truck Camper)
• 21 - means 21' (there are also 17' and 25' models)
• RB - means Rear Bedroom (there is also a 25B21FB with a Front Bedroom, and six more length and layout combinations)

There is also a 25B25RQ (Rear Queen), also with a rear bedroom and front dinette, in case anyone is still asking Escape for 25 foot model and wants a rear bedroom example.

Don't forget, the Bigfoot is 12" wider than the Escape. That make a huge difference for layout, especially with the bath.

And it's part of the reason I would prefer the Escape. The wider trailer is harder to tow on narrow roads and requires very extended towing mirrors to even see the sides.

Yes, Bigfoot is frankly a nicer trailer than any of fiberglass producers. However, their trailers are--to me--extremely expensive. I cannot afford a new Bigfoot. I can, however, afford a new Escape.

That, along with the added weight and cost to me are the big factors, all favour an Escape. Otherwise one very nice trailer.

Hi Bob. Thanks for your input. I agree with you on the bed issue. Could you please tell me why you went with the 21 verses the 5.0? To me it seems to have more storage area. Cheers.

We didn't get a 5.0 because I use my truck to haul my telescope gear and assorted festival/camping stuff like an extra 10x10 awning, a couple buffet tables, extra chairs for guests, etc, that and my wife has short legs and bad knees and the idea of having to climb up to the loft to get in bed was completely unacceptible to her.

We’re in the same boat. Wife likes the 21’ Escape she saw at the Green Egg Rally open house.

John wife’s knees my knee n back reason we went with the 21 but I sure love the way a 5er looks when hooked up n going down the highway
