Could Escape "hatch" a propane tank cover?

Has anyone ever asked Reace to produce a propane cover that would match our trailers. I really do not like the universal plastic covers or the vinyl snap on ones. I would gladly pay extra for a classy looking cover and I'm sure it would go great with the trailers. Heck, if they can whip out a new 5.0 I'm sure a mold for a tank cover would be easy.

I purchased a replacement tank cover from the same company. Escape uses a color called frost, I choose their color called Colonial White. It is a much better match. I suggested the color change to Kim and it did not go anywhere.

The least expensive solution is that can of paint. Baglo will chime in shortly with the brand and color.

It's Krylon Fusion Dover White 42322

Also, I'd heard of somebody losing their cover because of turbulence so I loop a reusable zip tie around the cylinder handle and back up through a slot in the top of the cover. It could be white, it could be tidier, but, it'll do.

I'm not certain of the color of Fusion paint, but Dave&Kathie painted the "stock" dual propane tank cover on their 21' to match their trailer, and it looks STELLAR. No longer that "white in your face" color. It now blends in with the box and looks really good.

Oh Dave&Kathie... can you answer up?

We also used Krylon Dover White - easy to do (didn't do the inside). One spray can is plenty. Looks great, matches perfectly.

Doesn't big foot have a molded cover? How much weight could a small moulded cover add? Does anyone have any idea what a cost could be?

Since there already is one, I don't understand why we need another. The ones in use are readily available and inexpensive. What is it that a new design would accomplish?

For me, when i just spent close to $40,000.00 on a 21'. I look at it and the "cheap" looking cover bugs me. I just think it would be no big deal to have a matching cover if I'm willing to pay for it.

I know what you mean - I always liked the Bigfoot custom front box!

I don't think Bigfoot was concerned about building a light weight trailer.
What do you think that storage box / propane tank cover weighs?
Amazing resemblance to an eagle beak.

Yea, Bigfoot had (has) a "box" on the front of their trailers. which takes the place of the Escape box. The Bigfoot ... I kind-a think the shape looks like a big ole pimple. YMMV

thank dave & kathie, We all know escape makes a nice storage box that goes with the flow of the trailer. I just wish there was a cover that was available to do the same. To me it looks like the cover they use is out of place. They use it because it's available and everyone else uses it. I know they are busy but if they are making such a volume of trailers now, i'm sure they could sell a number of covers if they were available. I guess I like things that unique. Part of the reason I purchases an Escape.

Donna, I don't like the beak they put on the front of there trailer either but I do like the material its made out of.

On design over function, how does one remove the propane tanks through that nifty little cover? I know I'm too old and feeble to struggle with the physics that would seem to be involved.

It looks like it fiberglass to me. I do not want to see a copy of their box. Just a small propane cover made out of fiberglass. Same gell coat they use on the trailer so it matches. Smooth and shiny. Simple but with a step up in class.
