Disconnecting toilet supply line

Something that works on similar occasions for me is to wrap a rag around the fitting to give a better grip.

Ouch, I've seen some difficult to access fittings that made me mutter a few choice words and your situation would have me muttering even more choice words. :)

I think that you're correct in thinking that the hose and fittings were assembled before the toilet was screwed down. If you can't tap the fitting loose enough to be removed you might have to bite the bullet and undo the toilet and swing it slightly to one side.

Good luck

Ron

Yep. That's a bugger.

Is this the fitting you are trying to loosen ?

A very gentle - careful tap tap with an extension (wood or metal) and hammer.
Last resort, remove the toilet. And removing the toilet is probably the best and easiest way in the long run.

Occer, if you look just to the right of the part you circled you can see the edge of a round cap. (It shows up more fully in the reflection). That cap is part of the water valve. The fitting is beneath the cap part, screwed into the underside of the water valve. The fitting is not visible in the picture or the reflection where it is obscured by the water valve.

Yes, I will be removing the toilet. At this point, trying to remove the fitting is just a challenge. I appreciate the help in trying to solve the puzzle.

I suggested to a forum member that I’m tempted to take the trailer to a rally and offer a prize to anyone who can remove the fitting.

The blue line is the reflection of the water supply. The connection fitting is circled in red. Sorry about the quality.
