Dometic 9500E Awning Blues

I have a 2018 19ft Escape. Tired of trying to fix this beast and not sure it won't break again so it has to be replaced with a manual awning. In the Panther RV Products page I found a manual wall mounted awning brand name is Fiamma model F45S. It won't interfere with frameless window when retracted. Has anyone out there installed this awning? It will need to be shimmed out in order to access the circular eye the manual hand crank fits into. How hard is it to peel back head liners inside camper to drill mounting bolts and put them back in good shape?

Sorry to read of your frustration with your awning.

FWIW my previous 2005 Casita had an older version of that Fiamma brand manual awning. I liked it, especially the built-in drop-down legs. It served me well for ~2 decades, I don't know if anything has changed about them.

I'm not familiar with the Dometic mounting on an E19 so can't comment on what's involved in a swap.

Here are pictures I took in 2019 of how they mounted the manual awning.

I think all the mounting hardware inside should end up inside a cabinet. Just drill a hole from the outside and use a nice big fender washer inside and it should look fine.
