Dometic comes through!

Great news Reace. I always wondered about the accuracy of the wireless thermometers, but haven't put in the time for proper testing. Thanks for keeping us updated. Can't beat side-by-side real world testing ---keep those updates coming!!

So happy to hear! Can't wait to get our fix. Hope to see yours at Bluebonnet! I will bring chocolate Tammy!!

Not sure why the flame keeps blowing out. It cools well on propane so I don't want to mess with the regulator. Dennis has been running his fridge on propane the whole time with no problem, but his is a 21'. Last year we had the old 6.7 in a 5.0 and flame kept blowing out. The good thing is 12v is definitely working well enough on long hot drives. I packed ice packs for the drive just in case...its a good thing cuz they in Dennis fridge while we drive n the beer is in mine!

Good to hear there's a 21 along for the Reace/Bluebonnet fridge experiment. Sounds like I may need to plan a trip home for Felicity to get a new cooler sometime this year............

I had my 5.0 TA with the new style 6.7 fridge on the road most of Feb and it ran on propane only while driving with no problems. I had it on 4 bars for cooling. Daytime outside temps ware 80's to 90's and fridge was averaging 36 degrees. In the freezer, everything was frozen solid.

I'm a happy camper

Rescue, thanks so much for this good news. Have fun at the rally!

iPads spell checking strikes again -- of course I meant to say 'Reace, thanks so much for this good news'. But in this case I feel like a new fridge will rescue me from cooling issues so maybe it is appropriate

Got the email from Haley, Dometic has ok'd my replacement.

I asked if ETI could do the retrofit and she defered question for Tammy and Reace when they got back.

After a long chat with Reace this week...
When they return home, they are going to replace the fridge in Dad's rig. Once they figure out what needs to be done with altering things for the seal they will let us know.

We discussed how his new 2 door performed on the way down to Texas, oh my...if all of the new ones work that well we will be very happy!

We also got our email with the approval to replace. I asked if there was any chance they could replace ours before we pick it up at the end of May and Harley said that Dometic won't be able to supply the replacements until sometime this summer ... a late summer or fall road trip.

Got my email also but I was hoping to read Reace's trip report with the new one before making a commitment. I guess we can chat at Osoyoos. Late summer will be good.

Could you start a new Topic for double door reports with a good title? I'm looking forward to Robert's, and other Texas owners, a little further into summer.

Thanks

We also got our email and will call Dometic this week. Reace seemed happy with the 2 door on the trip down from Canada. Hopefully we will get the fix done soon. Ours will be a good test for the temps here in Texas this summer.

Dometic seems to be unaware of the ETI deal

Contacted Dometic to have our RML8555 replaced with an RMD8555 per Reace's instructions. Seems like Dometic's support staff is singing a different tune.

Here's the response from Dometic to my email on the subject:

If you are experiencing a cooling issue with the refrigerator, you would need to go through an authorized service center to have the technician diagnose the issue with the refrigerator. Once they have tested the refrigerator and it is deemed to be a warrantable situation they would contact Dometic for authorization. I have listed 2 dealers I have located near you.

Anyone have a working contact for the ETI deal that Reace described? TIA.

Glenn

Does anyone have a name of someone at Dometic that is aware of this exchange ?

Tammy sent me an email(as I inquired the same) as soon as they have the contact info. I think Dometic is still figuring it all out. Should be soon we hope.
