Door ramp?

Has anyone found a doorway ramp that would work instead of the steps? (I tried to search this but got nowhere.)

Both. I want something I don't have to keep removing and putting back but right now doing stairs kills my knees. I could possibly get by with just the top step. I may build something but if I could find one that would be easier.

I figure it doesn't have to be that portable- I only go on a couple of trips where I stay long enough for the steps to get to me, So if I build one it could be as simple as thick plywood on a 2x6 ladder frame, sitting on the top step. It wouldn't be light but it would fit in my truckbed. But I don't like reinventing the wheel if I can find something that will work.

I think Escape is now installing the fold down steps,
Or contact an RV store like Camping World and have them install folding step and attach a ramp to it long enough to fit the height of the door. Then it could still be folded up rather then removed.

I don't care if it is removed- but it has to be a ramp or it doesn't do any good. And I haven't found a good ramp.

Dog ramp

Aren’t there a slew of canine vehicle ramps? I had a telescoping aluminum one that was rated for big (50 kg and up) use.

There are a few that go over 150 lbs but they are mostly wider and when I had one, it also did not feel safe when I walked on it- plastic gives. I've been looking. And I don't want it to fold as it is too easy for the dog's feet to get pinched. I need to experiment with how steep a slope I can do, though.

This one might work. Spit it apart and only use one side of it.

The demo is convincing except when I read the reviews they refer to the ramp being too heavy and also having too much give, having changed to more plastic since the last model. So not sure. But I have an older 4 foot ramp I want to try to see if the length would work. Seems like the telescoping ones are better used in the shortest position.

For wheelchairs it is 1:12. My dogs in carts could do 1:5 or 1:6. So not too worried about walking up a 4 foot ramp. But I'll try before I order or build anything. I have a ramp and can check what works for me.

Well, I tested a 4 foot ramp which is do-able but it won't help my back so now looking at a better set of steps. (The ramp might be better with a handrail but then I can't put it in the car.) Six foot might be a better length but then it would have to fold. Most of the pet ones have too much give.
