I have a 2017 E19 with only the exterior vent on my Atwood furnace. I was wondering if anyone has installed the exterior Dometic furnace panel used on present E 19s? It is vertically mounted and vent is left corner like my Atwood. Need enough access to move control board to access sail switch. My sail switch is not to side of control board and is the type with curved rectangular paddle.

We also have as 2017 E19. I pulled the furnace vent and furnace last summer under the expectation I would be able to install an access panel to service the control board and sail switch. I was encouraged by posts like (see ~8:40):

Apparently, the furnace installed in our 2017 E19 is of the vintage different from Ed's 2018 since the sail switch is installed behand a panel near the bottom of the furnace rear. Long story is that I cannot access the sail switch without removing the furnace from the trailer. Err. You may want to pull your furnace to see if your 2017 is different than ours and more like Ed's 2018.

edit - see my earlier post on this topic: https://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f9/so-where-is-my-furnace-sail-switch-21484.html

Like I noted in my search I too need more than Ed’s round port to deal with sail switch behind control board. I was hoping I could get insight into applying a new type furnace access panel. The newer Dometic is installed by slipping into same area as my Attwood, however, it is done from outside. If Atwood fails in future, I can purchase new type and hopefully slide in place.

In my searching for a solution (I did not find one), I noted that the new Dometic furnace door appears to screw directly to the furnace frame and not the trailer body (others with a newer trailer please comment). Hence, using a Dometic door for this purpose did not seem plausible.

If you develop a solution, please post!
