Hi new Escape fam! we are almost owners of an E19 2025 "Frankenstein" and very excited about it! It has a U-shaped dinette which I like but we want to get an EZ reach (or equivalent) for our table top so we have a clear floor for our 65# doggie. Is it possible 1) to do this ourselves if we get Escape to send the EZ reach part or 2) is it best to ask Escape to do it (if they will)? or 3) is there something out there that would work better (and cheaper). Is it as simple as adding extra bracing? This is my first question and certainly not my last since we are brand new to the RV world! TIA!

Welcome to the forum. The 19 is a great trailer and will take you far and wide making memories.

Questions about mods always are a bit difficult to answer not knowing if the folks that want to do them ordinarily do other DIY projects. But the requirements to be able to install the extra reinforcement are pretty simple and are at the bottom end of DIY skills. And, from my experience, any project taken on builds confidence that you can do mods. That's good because there's tons of mods that can be done.

IF you haven't completed your Deal, I would ask them to throw it into the deal. All mods can be done depending on your expertise. If it has a table mount now, you're going to have to deal with holes in the floor. They also use some L brackets for the floor in behind cabinet. I would at least Get those from escape. take a look at this thread

I like DIY project, excess to buy a new tool. :ROFLMAO:

PS sometimes the tool cost more then the project would have cost for some one else to do it.
But you end up with a new tool!

I would like to be able to slide the table top further left or right for getting in and out. I have thought about changing the table mount. At this point some of the other suggestions of draw slides would be easier and less expensive. We have bench seating not U-shape also.

I've never worried about that. The satisfaction alone makes it worthwhile plus I don't have to be concerned about someone else doing a poor job. And if I need to rationalize it further I consider the tools cost to be spread over multiple future projects. :)

Thank you. No holes in the floor thankfully. The EZ reach arm is an option of almost $800 CDN. So I'm thinking, I'll try to source a similar arm elsewhere and try a DIY. Thx for the thread, very helpful.

I changed our table mount to a Lagun in our u-shaped dinette. It freed up the floor space for the dog but it is far from stable and it's difficult to raise up and down. I would chose an EZ Reach next time. They are reportedly less wobbly.

Like many things, the Lagun seemed costly at the time I purchased it but now I forget what it cost. I wish we were more satisfied with it. We like the convenience of a swing away table so I'd go for the EZ Reach regardless of cost. The wobbly table bugs us.

I am unable to order EZ-Reach parts directly from Cass Hudson. The online order form will not recognize my WA address for shipping, no one answers the phone provided on the website, and no one calls me back.
ETI has promised to sell me another base for full size table I got with the trailer (we installed the round table), but I've yet to see it.
Anyone doing better?

I read this a lot on the forum and have to ask what the definition of 'unstable' is. We've had our Lagun set up for 3 years now and find it completely acceptable and easy to use. Plus it frees up the floor space for Nova. Is it as solid as our 200lb dinning room table? No. It does serve it's purpose, however. We do take it down every time before traveling, though, which probably helps keeping everything tight. Vibration is an evil thing to mechanical joints.
