Just want to make a comment on the U shape dinette.
I have the factory U shape upgraade option and the way Escape disgned and installed it is a pain in butt.
The hinged plywood under the side cushions extends past the side cushions to the underside of the front cushion. There is no way to gain access under the sides without lifting the front cushion too.
It would have been real simple to design and install it right at the factory!
Now I have to fix it!!!

Our 2010 19 had a short back seat cushion about thirty inches long. It fit between the two side seat cushions. We made a smaller table that was great for two of us. It had bigger cutouts at an angle for “ahem” clearance. When planning on hosting people we used the original big table. That was rare. Our U Shape dinette on the 19 was designed by Reace and Tammy and Escape owners Jack and Nancy Allen. It was the first U shape dinette made for a 19 in about 2011 or 2012. It worked great.

Apparently a design change was made or the Reace/Allen adaptation was discarded. It is not hard to make another table If you have the tools and the time. We used the Amish Snap two cantilevering base from RV Surplus in Elkhart IN on the smaller table and the double post setup the big table. We also had a single post table top for cocktails when day was done and nightfall approached. Our 2013 21 is “factory” save for the Snap Two table mount we have on the table and the table is equipped with plastic glides allowing ease of access to the side seating.

The newer Escapes are very nice and providing lots of enjoyment for the owners. Once we personalized our 21 the way we wanted it, chances of changing to anything else became very remote. I know a lot of folks who feel that way and love their customized Escapes.

I have the U-shaped dinette and have never found that to be a source of frustration. This is probably because I seldom access the side bench storage from the top. There isn't much (if any) storage available under the driver's-side bench, and I use the optional interior door at the end of the bench to routinely access the passenger side.

I find accessing storage under the front bench much more challenging. However, this is made made somewhat easier with the split seat and back cushion option (many thanks to forum members for pointing this out when I was configuring the trailer).
