For those of you with the 2017 model that includes the E9500 awning...

I don't recall how far our awning was retracted when we took delivery of our 21' TT back in January. Does this look normal or should I request some help from ETI?

(Please excuse the bugs on the casing)

Fred, mine looked like that when I got home from picking it up. Extending and retracting took care of it.

If not that, you would think there is a close limit switch off some sort. Do you have the manual on you?

any ideas as to what the bent piece of perhaps metal that appears to be riveted to the hull is for?..
guide the awning upward on retraction?
prevent awning from scraping the hull during deployment and retraction?

Fred..you are providing a valuable service for 2nd gen buyers as you may be one of the few who are full timing it with a new trailer, thus providing a great shakedown for the new design.
Thank you

Seems like freeway wind blast and passing semis would start working it's way in there. Hopefully the last page in the manual will do the trick. Thanks Jim. Seeing build photos, i was unable to think of a way to put awning straps on this new type, as a safety measure.

You know how u unroll wrapping paper, then roll it back up on the tube. One end hangs out a bit if not lined up exact. I wonder if the back end is sealed flush and this front end is popping out from the factory(dometic), you know the canvas sitting on the tube off just a bit, but compounds the problem as it rolls up. The pick up day photo appears to be not flush also.

The back end is not flush but does not stick out as much as the front end.

I agree with your comment about the pickup day photo although it was taken from a distance and a slightly different angle.

I have it on my list to take a close up picture, front and rear, on our pickup day.

There are maybe 2-4 pages in the literature describing adjustment, even the use of a manual operation.

Would you mind sharing your pick up day list?

My pickup day list is still a work-in-progress. but I will when it's done. Seems that the work people pay me for keeps taking away from getting ready to becoming a first-time trailer owner!

And I guess I should ask, what do consider a pick up day list? :)

I'd hang onto my list until you've gone through the orientation so you don't derail what is a practiced presentation. If you have questions after, refer to your list then.

My orientation was very brief and doubt there is any regimented checklist. It more depends on the experience level of the customer as well as that of the employee tasked with that job on a particular date.

I agree that the orientation depends on the experience level of the customer and can testify to that with my own orientation. However, I respectfully disagree about a regimented checklist. While they may not have a physical list in hand, I have no doubt that every detail and order of presentation has been vetted and directed by Tammy and Reace beforehand--at least I would run the business this way. Especially with so very many features that are now standard, I believe that any employee who gives the orientation has been thoroughly trained in the process. Just my opinion...been wrong before and will be again. ;D
