Elfa Mesh Pull-Out Cabinet Drawers for 5.0

Above the furnace, to the right of the 'fridge is a two-shelf cupboard we use as a Pantry. For three years, we used it "as is," but always felt things were "lost" deep inside.

We decided to add two Elfa Mesh Drawers (after making a repair to the "sagging shelf," detailed here: Sagging Shelf?).

Here's the top shelf (20-3/4″ Length 16-7/8″ Width 4-1/2″ Height; so-called "1-runner"):

The bottom shelf had to be raised, a bit, to allow the drawer to slide out over the lip. The 2-runner 8-1/2" high drawer worked well:

"Con" Yes, we've lost a bit of storage capacity using drawers instead of just shelves, but we feel like better access and visibility will more than make up for the loss! Besides, these Escapes have TONS of storage, it seems to us...

Definitely bookmarking this to show to my wife. We just got our E19 and have been trying to figure out how to make the best use of the space. The previous owners put a couple of mesh pull out shelves under the sink for utensils, etc. and they are great. This looks like something even I could manage to do and would be a great improvement. Many thanks for posting.

Looks nice. we thought we would do something like this in our 5.0s pantry but we bought these storage baskets Amazon.com
four of them, and two fit perfectly on each shelf, not quite as convenient as a pull out drawers while camping/traveling but what we like about them is for loading up and unloading the camper you just bring the bins in the house to load up or unload. The lids are also useful while camping for trays for cooking outside, eating off of on a picnic table and lots of other things.

Looked for those but can only find them at The Container Store. They don't seem to be in stock anywhere and the one store that is closest to us - a good 100 miles away - has only one in stock and says they won't ship. Can't find anything similar on Amazon. Will look for alternatives locally at Lowe's/Home Depot/Target, etc.

We love the two drawers that were installed under the counter by the previous owner.

Note: The stuff currently in the drawers was left by the previous owner.
