That's more like it!
Where ever did you get this number? No way it will weigh anywhere near that much. The shell will be about 20 feet, which is shorter than that of the 5.0TA and the overall frame weight can't be much more than the 5.0TA either, and just add some weight for the extra width and finishing inside that with. I would bet it would top out at 5000 max.
I believe the 40K was Canadian and will probably approach $50K with options. With the current exchange rate $38,000 US but that can go up.
Three years ago we priced a 25' Bigfoot, starting at $56,000 excluding solar. Looked at a couple's 2017 25' Bigfoot last winter in Organ Pipe with 300 watts solar and they had $72,000 into the camper. So it will be below Bigfoot territory. An easy $50K USD with a minimum of options !
Bigfoot territory ?
My 2018 - 21 was almost $48,000 CND new . Figuring in the increased size (21 to 23 ft ) and Escape’s recent price increases , I can easily see an Escape 23 being in the $60 K CND price range . I would assume that individuals who can afford a 23 ft Escape and the proper tow vehicle will be purchasing an option heavy trailer .
** What I don’t look forward to with the introduction of the Escape 23 is the hundreds of threads / posts inquiring if anyone has towed the new 23 with a 4 cylinder Yugo and
what kind of mileage are you getting in the mountains ? **
With the Bigfoots, keep in mind since they're sold through a dealer the list price is kind of a fiction compared to Escape's actual prices. MSRP might be $70K, but actual price for a 25RQ is probably going to be in the $48-58K range.
The truck's limits only apply to the actual loaded gross trailer weight. If a loaded trailer weighs, for instance, 5000 pounds, then it's a 5000 pound towing load whether the manufacturer approves the trailer for GVW up to 5000 pounds or GVWR up to 7500 pounds.7500 lbs GWR definitely puts you in mandatory WDH even with a F250 class truck
