Escape 21' LE Floor Plan

....We love our classic 21, especially the rear dinette, because it's usually pointed at the view we drove a long way to see, not at our tow vehicle or a parking lot. For example, we just camped on northern Vancouver Island in a site where we could back up right to the beach, and enjoy a spectacular view of the ocean, nearby islands, sunrises, and sunsets--completely unspoiled by other trailers or evidence of the presence of humans....

We usually go outside to enjoy the views at the places we travel to! By the time we get into the trailer, the only views are generally darkness.

If this layout has been refined at the time we moved to the 5.0TA, there is a good chance we would have got this instead.

While I do prefer a dinette in the rear, it really is not a huge deal, as we usually only sit there when it is dark out as I much prefer the view from outside. Besides, many a time the rear view is close trees, where the front view is always open. No one right way to have it all the time.

This is why the front and rear dinettes appeal to me, depending on campsite will determine whether front or rear bed will be set up for that stay.

We’re outside under the awning people so the view from inside the trailer for us is a moot point. Outside kitchen is setup as well. Only times we’re inside are bedtime, and really inclement weather(rare in the SW).
I think ETI may have hurt the positioning of this layout by announcing the 23 with walk around Q bed coming soon, Q1 if I recall. I personally would wait the few months to see that one before ordering the 21 in either layout.

Another vote for rear dinette. Last May in Oregon we got more rain than we've had in past trips and this month we had a lot of wind in CO & Utah.

We are mainly outside also.
One of the reasons we wanted our solar mounted on the front has to do with that. We are always looking for a campsite, that when parked the front is to the east/northeast. The solar panel will be the first one to “bath” in the sun. We are the second in line to catch the sun, having breakfast outside.
Works for us. I think that we had only one breakfast inside since we got our escape. And yes, we do camp....

I'd be surprised that a new 23' model with front walk around bed would still weigh less
than the 5000# current Escape rating, perhaps 5500# which would mean a lot of new tow vehicles....

Yes, I’d hope most aren’t towing that close to the numbers where tow vehicle would cause many issues. Seems like F-150’s are everywhere and they can handle quite a bit more.

Not sure how this can be, relative to the 19 the 21 LE has 2 extra feet and we were told the dinette in the 21LE is 55" which is 11 inches more than the 19's 44 inch dinette so that means there is only 13 inches more to make up. That means there could only be a maximum of 13 inches more counter space and it seems from the floor plan that it is less than this. I like the classic 21's extra counter space but as others have suggested the 21LE just doesn't seem to have extra counterspace relative to the 19..

My answer was to storage not counter top area. Yes, it appears to be the same as a 19 counter top area, but you have 2 large dinette/bed areas. Trade offs are common in small spaces...

It is possible that I am not interpreting the drawing on the 21 LE correctly. Could it be the 5.0 TA counter is in the 21LE? If so that might be compelling enough to move up from our 19 : )

But wait, if one bases this on the existing 21 and if the door in the 21LE is in the same location then the 21 LE has a 60" wide bed which is 12 inches wider than the 48 inch dinette of the classic 21 so that means the counter would be a maximum of 65 - 12 or 53" : | Oh this waiting for the real answers is tough : )

My wife and I were just looking at the 21 layout. She said she would never buy the layout with the toilet right beside your pillows. She prefers your LE layout.

Pretty much any trailer has your toilet beside your pillows. Got to get over it. Everybody has to take a crap sometime.

Strange, our first couple of nights, stretched out on the bed watching a video, and it never once crossed my mind that the bathroom was next door. I mean it's not like you're even looking at it.

Sometimes reality might be a little different than imagining a situation looking at a drawing.

We love our rear dinette! It has the best views, we really don't want to look at the tow vehicle while we sip our morning coffee, etc. Also we really were tired of a bed that required crawing over or being crawled over so we immediately liked the 21. The crawl over bed is definately a deal breaker. Next is the bathroom, we love the big bathroom in our 21. Also, love the counter space. The 21LE seems like a big 19. One good thing I can see is if they offer a bunk option, it would be fantasitic for families.
