TV trays! Our dinette is more comfortable than a picnic table in shoulder seasons in which we mostly camp. It's great to dine outside, just not when the food is cold instantly or the wind is blowing 25 mph.

So true Ross ! Even though we have done a lot to improve the dinette sitting , sure wish it was designed and improved a lot better then it is ! Pat

The buyer of our 05 17B several years ago, built a floor to ceiling full pantry just inside the entry door on the refrigerator side. It was one of the coolest 17B mods I've seen and very surprised I haven't seen more copies.

yes... agree there!

I can see the leather reclining chairs as a viable option when coupled with a gas fireplace and a media center with a 54” flat screen TV . Our friends have something similar in their 36 ft 5th wheel and it does add a homey touch . It would probably take some innovative / creative engineering. Since tables are flat and the TV is flat maybe it could serve a dual purpose

I love creative engineering... and believe we can get a little nice LR type set up with dual dining function!

LOL we camp to get away FROM the dang TV..wh we watch very little of anyways, especially the horrible fare on network tv today! That said.. IMHO investigate the new "film layer" flexible, folding TVs they are working on..they apparently can be glued to almost any surface..say a bathroom door or a cabinet door, making a stand alone TV nearly obsolete.

:cheers: thanks for sharing this! gorgeous! All/any of this would make a proud Limited Edition RV. Everyone spends more time in their LR than DR. I'm surprised that hasn't evolved more in these RV's. Hoping someone is thinking about this!

Agreed Sam, the pantry might make it more compelling especially with the slide out upper shelves (above the table) however I am still trying to answer my wife's question - is there enough different between the 21 LE and the 19 to make the switch or is the 5.0 TA the way to go. We had Donna D.'s answer earlier in the thread : )

Wow. That's the trailer we've been hoping for, at 21' in a 19' layout. We'd be really interested. That is, if it has a larger kitchen counter.

But, we just bought a 25' Bigfoot. Front dinette, rear walk around queen, more counter space, oven, lots of storage, dry bath. Also has good insulation, large 'fridge, central heating, etc.

Well, it does like a 3/4 ton diesel pickup (12mpg), is wider (and longer) than our 19, and costs more. But we do like it.

If you want to design your own trailer, there are things you need to consider. You can't just shove stuff around in a rectangle. There is placement of the wheel wells and the door ( which needs to be wide enough for baby boomers ). There is the weight of the trailer and balance, front and back and side to side. There is efficient wiring and plumbing.

It's really easy to draw straight lines with a ruler and pencil on a sheet of graph paper.

I like the front and rear dinette set up because of the choices it would allow. You get tired of sleeping in the front, switch to the back or vice versa.

Yes flip the layout around. Im planning on wintering on the baja with the unit backed onto the beach. Would love to sit at the dinette and be able to stare out at the ocean through all those big windows when I'm not outside in my lawn chair. Not too much to ask really.

21'NE (New Edition)

We recieved our updated build sheet for the 21'NE. Getting closer! We were happy we got to go into the new layout last month and 'feel' it. The front dinette isn't as big as the queen bed in the back, so swapping them wouldn't give you a queen bed. There's not enough room between the door and the front end. But it will make a nice sized guest bed on the rare occasion we need it. The counter is definitely not as long as the traditional 21', but a bit longer than the 19'. One of the benefits for us is the extra 4" (or so) in the walkway. With dogs and 2 less-than-slender humans, it was a more comfortable fit. It also has 2 doors above the sink/stove, and a longer door above the bed in back.

For those asking about the new fabric/Formica/flooring options, I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't think to take photos of all the choices. They have several combos set up, but you can mix and match. We chose the Havana Tobacco floor, the Symmetry Tidal fabric, and the Mineral Jet Formica. We liked the pop of the dark countertops with the Maple cabinets. I found the fabric on this site: www.fabric.com/buy/0553276/abbeyshea-symmetry-jacquard-7009-quarry That picture doesn't really represent the colors well. It's a smoother upholstery fabric. I'm surprised they haven't loaded actual photos of all the choices on the ETI site. They have some, but not all.
